What is Monster Hunter Wilds?

Monster Hunter Wilds challenges players to experience the thrill of tracking down increasingly powerful monsters. Whether you go it alone or with a team, the action continues as there is an overarching gameplay loop:

  • Monster Hunting: Capture or kill creatures in thrilling hunts.
  • Material Collection: Successful hunts yield materials based on the monster's type.
  • Crafting and Upgrades: Weapons and armors can be crafted or upgraded to be stronger, each with unique bonuses.
  • Progression: With better gear, the player can take on larger, more dangerous monsters, new materials, and the cycle begins anew.

There's no skill tree in Monster Hunter Wilds, like one may find in a traditional RPG. Instead, skills are modified by the gear the player has, enabling them to switch depending on their preferred style.

How to Farming MH Wilds Items?

In Monster Hunter Wilds, players will hunt, craft, and explore a world filled with colorful monsters in an exhilarating game. Once players reach high rank, monster materials are ever more important, as they are required to craft armor, weapons, and even cosmetics.

Unlocking Farms in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, farms have been radically changed from what they used to be. Although the farms are still key in hoarding resources and crafting items, their mechanics have evolved from the other games in the series.

Farming in Monster Hunter Wilds

The game features a new mechanic known as Material Retrieval. Players have access to five distinct farms, each connected to a different part of the map. Players are able to gather resources with the farms, but unlike the old games, the output is determined by the environmental seasons.

Material Retrieval Key Features:

Specialized Item Lists: Each farm has a set list of items they specialize in and they include honey, might seeds, and thunderbugs.

Seasonal Dependence: The current star rating placed next to the item indicates whether materials can be harvested or not and seasons with more stars have in higher yields.

Inelegant Weather: The production of certain items may be temporarily stopped by certain weather conditions, rendering the farm inactive until the conditions change.

Moreover, players can take advantage of unique trade merchants located in every area. These merchants let you trade area-specific items for unique crafting items, ingredients, and even monster parts, such as gems and plates.

Unlocking the Farms

The farms are not implemented in the main storyline and are only accessed after achieving a certain high rank (HR) and completing particular side quests. Given below is a comprehensive guide to unlocking all five game farms.

Efficient Management of Farms

Farm management, once the farm is set up, becomes easy with Nata at any tent campsite. Here are general tips to improve the way you farm:

Farm Status Check: Always look out with exclamation marks Nata, when your farms are full and expect to collect the farms.

Refresh Cycles: Farms and trade vendors refresh every in-game day-night cycle (approximately one hour of real-time). If you see certain mechanics on the tent, you may also skip this process.

Stockpile Essentials: Spend your energy on getting honey (because it’s used for mega potions), thunderbugs (a vital component of traps), and spider webs (a vital component of pitfall traps). Monsters can also be disrupted by flash bugs, which makes hunting easier.

Seasonal Events: Special event indicators which temporarily increase farm gains in some areas can be found under the environmental overview. These are marked in arrows around the farm names.

Skills to Improve Material Farming

The following two skills can help improve your farming efficiency when it comes to monster materials:

Flare: This Monster Hunter Wilds new skill allows you to better create wounds on monsters. With a max rank of 5, you can reap the benefits of enhanced wound creation and increased part breaks resulting in more material drops.

Partbreaker: This skill increases damage dealt to certain monster parts, making it easier to break them. In Wilds, Partbreaker also increases damage on focus strikes aimed to deal wounds.

Combining these skills creates synergy that improves speed of hunts, material gather, and efficiency.

Leveraging Trade Vendors

Trade vendors stock goods from rare crafting materials, gems to plates, with exposed parts from specified monsters. Look for highlighted inventory sections as these are special deals and sometimes contain sought out items.
