Creatures of Sonaria Mirageon Beast, Icebreaker Murk & Cyrodon: Full PvP Breakdown

New patch. Three creatures worth your time: Mirageon Beast, Icebreaker Murk, and the Cyrodon redesign. We ran all three in live Oasis PvP. Here's what actually works.

Creatures of Sonaria Mirageon Beast, Icebreaker Murk & Cyrodon: Full PvP Breakdown

Mirageon Beast: Slow Bites, Nasty Payoff

Three heads. Slow attack speed. Don't let that fool you.

EffectValueWhy It Matters
Burn 3.5/bite Stacks with poison
Poison 3.5/bite Ticks after contact
Wing shredder 2/bite Extra chip damage
Drowsy aura AoE slow Locks enemies in range
Blurred vision Debuff Kills their counter-attack
Launch Mobility skill Escape or engage fast

Result: ~400 damage to a tier five Nova using only status effects. No brute force needed.

Takeaway: If you win the range war with drowsy + blurred vision, the slow bite speed stops mattering. Also stomped a Coros — but honestly, everything stomps a Coros.

Icebreaker Murk: Trades Bleed for Weight

Ice-skin Murk subspecies. New fins, sharper silhouette. Not just cosmetic.

StatBase MurkIcebreaker
Damage Higher Lower
Weight StandardIncreased
Bleed StrongCut hard
Ability None Launch charge

Verdict: Bleed builds lose here. Weight builds win.

Hit 700 damage in one exchange, 422 with adrenaline active — solid, but a specced base Murk still out-damages it. Use Icebreaker when you need to out-muscle same-size opponents, not when you need a fast kill.

Cyrodon Redesign: Legs Are Ugly, Bleed Is Broken

New fins = good. New legs = questionable. The kit, though, is genuinely busted.

  • Base bleed: 9/bite
  • With cat plushie buff: up to 16 bleed/sec
  • Bite speed: fast, stacks quick
  • Weight: ~10,000 — grab-and-run is viable
  • Berserk trait: more damage taken = faster bites

Why this wins fights: Low direct damage (roughly 300 vs tier ones) doesn't matter once bleed stacks past 100+. The berserk trait means it gets more dangerous as it loses — the opposite of every other creature's power curve.

Real result: grabbed a fleeing teen Murk mid-chase using pure weight advantage, then finished it with bleed ticks alone.

Fast PvP Notes

  • Garchkus — outruns you. Don't assume otherwise.
  • Oxulaman — near-invisible wings, ~1,000 damage breath attack. Respect the range.
  • Valkyrie — still the best support pick. Auto-heals allies mid-fight.
  • Polymonstrum — underrated. Won a 1v1 we expected to lose easily.

FAQ

What does the Mirageon Beast's drowsy aura do?

Slows every enemy in range. Combined with blurred vision, it removes their ability to counter-attack cleanly — this is where most of the damage advantage comes from.

Is Icebreaker Murk better than base Murk?

No, not for damage. Yes, for weight-based control. Pick base Murk for bleed builds, Icebreaker for out-muscling same-size fights.

Why does Cyrodon feel overpowered despite low bite damage?

Bleed stacking. 9-16 bleed per second adds up fast, and the berserk trait speeds up bites as you take damage — turning near-death into your strongest phase.

Can Mirageon Beast solo a tier five Nova?

Not guaranteed, but ~400 damage from status effects alone proves it's a legitimate threat, not a novelty pick.

What's the biggest complaint about the Cyrodon redesign?

The legs. Fins nailed the aquatic upgrade; legs break the aesthetic most players wanted.

Mirageon Beast wins through status effects, not raw power. Icebreaker Murk is a weight-control pick, not a damage upgrade. Cyrodon's bleed mechanic — legs aside — makes it the strongest grind target from this update.
