The Yian Kut-Ku is an agile fire-spitting bird wyvern who can ambush overzealous hunters with its deceptive speed. It is a classic member of the flaming wyverns from the very genesis of the Monster Hunter universe.

Yian Kut-Ku is weak to Water, Ice, and Thunder attacks.

Yian Kut-Ku is moderately weak to the following: Poison, Sleep, Paralysis, Blast, Stun, and Exhaust.

Exploit Its Weak Hearing:

While Echolocation gives it a good sense of its surroundings, Yian Kut-Ku's hearing has some significant gaps. The use of Screamer Pods and Sonic Bombs will yield opportunities for heavy damage.

Be careful as after recovering from these stuns, it will enter an enraged state, where speed and attack power is dramatically heightened.

Mouth: Its mouth is indeed the most crucial point of attack so aim for it for maximum damage.

Breakable Parts:

Head: Breaking the head opens it up for further punishment, and dropping its attack options gives some nice added rewards.

Yian Kut-Ku also possesses his share of fire soared ball blasting abilities which do Fireblight damage over time.

Stay Mobile:

Yian Kut-Ku is speedy as well as erratic—it's prone to darting all over the battlefield. Keep your distance from the monster so that you don't get boxed in.

Be wary of Enraged Mode:

Yian Kut-Ku is more threatening, aggressive, and difficult to track when enraged. Try not to get hit, but take your time to wait for an opening to counterattack.
