In the ever-evolving landscape of online gaming, The Quinfall has marked a significant milestone with its latest update. Despite its relatively recent launch in January of this year, the game has quickly captivated the MMORPG community, and this update, titled Realm of the Cursed, stands as its most substantial enhancement to date.

Released on Holy Saturday, this update introduces three new high-level areas designed to challenge even the most seasoned players: Drakkmorn Hollow, Abyssora Sanctum, and Gravemourn Keep. Each of these regions promises to deliver unique challenges and opportunities for players to test their skills and strategies.

One of the most exciting additions is the legendary Gravemark Hellsteel gear, now recognized as the most powerful equipment within the game. Players can acquire this coveted gear by defeating formidable world bosses, adding a new layer of excitement and competition to the gameplay.

In addition to these new features, the update brings a host of balance adjustments to in-game monsters, ensuring a more equitable and engaging experience for all players. Furthermore, players will find enhanced opportunities to earn experience points through various activities, facilitating faster character progression.
To commemorate this landmark update, The Quinfall is offering a substantial 90% discount, inviting both new and returning players to explore its expansive world. The game itself is a low fantasy MMORPG set in a sprawling open world of 2,016 square kilometers.
As The Quinfall continues to evolve, this update underscores its commitment to delivering rich and immersive experiences to its player base. With Realm of the Cursed, the game not only expands its universe but also solidifies its position as a formidable contender in the world of online gaming.
↖ Storyline and Setting
The QuinFall's narrative centers on Aunasur, a creator god who brings to life different planets like Quinfall. The emergence of monster-infested portals encourages the creation of another deity, Tyan, who crafts humanity to deal with these threats. After a long war, Tyan disappears mysteriously, allowing adventurers, including the player, to rise and face the returning monsters. While the story is somewhat boring and uninteresting like many other MMORPGs, it does fulfill its function. I must point out, however, that the first cutscene of the game which is also the introduction of the game features AI-generated art and animation alongside voice acting that, for some reason, gives a sense of non-native English flavor.
↖ Character Creation and Graphics
The character customization offered in The QuinFall is quite remarkable, providing incredibly detailed options, including sliders for body proportions, color, and even AI-generated voices. After settling on the character's face and name, players are welcomed into the stunning world of Quinfall. As for the game itself, the graphics of this indie MMO are rather impressive and do surpass several other games within the same timeframe. Unfortunately, the game's music, alongside many other sound effects, seem to use stock sounds from the Unity engine which is something many indie developers do.
↖ Gameplay Mechanics
The combat system in The QuinFall is centered on actions where the players execute light and heavy attacks through clicks. The left and right clicks correspond, respectively, to light and heavy attacks. Unlike the older class systems, the game links combat capabilities to weapon choices. Every weapon comes with its own unique sets of skills and offer different skill kits. Ranged combat users, in particular, seem to be suffering the most from the jankiness of the mechanics. Despite having potential, the combat dynamics feel out of sorts. For melee weapons users, the clunkiness of dodging and movement can reduce the fluidity of the gameplay.
Players engage in character progression in The QuinFall by leveling up characters and mastering weapons. Every level comes with health and mana boosts as well as eligibility for new equipment. Separate mastery levels for weapons also offer unlockable skills where new abilities can be learned, existing ones enhanced, or both. Enhanced abilities can further be mastered with the use of stones augmenting the abilities in two supplementary ways.
↖ Content and Features
Despite being in early access, The QuinFall manages to offer a huge appeal of content to its audience. All players have access to countless professions alongside the ability to mine, farm, do animal husbandry, and hunt for treasure. Players are also offered opportunities to traverse large continents, partake in instance dungeons both solo and in parties, join open world bosses and join PvP events that are off timed. The game also offers players the ability to own boats which they can use to partake in overseas trade or piracy.
↖ Challenges and Concerns
Even with all the notable features The QuinFall offers, it has some significant challenges. The game developers' history of abandoning earlier projects raises concerns about whether or not support for this game will last. In addition, the game has had issues with players cheating and hacking due to a lack of an anti-cheat system. While some steps have been taken to address this issue, the trust players have is, unfortunately, gone permanently.
Monetization strategies have come under fire as well. The $20 upfront price does add value for some players, but the monetization cash shop with assets from the Unity store is a controversial issue. Perceived as exploitative and selling out, selling these assets to players greatly damages the credibility of the game.
↖ Conclusion
As a balance between potential and problems, The QuinFall remains a mixed bag. The modern MMO systems along with other features provide a good start for more additions down the road. Yet, reputation of the developer alongside poor technical issues and monetization strategies greatly overshadow any positive the game has. For success to happen on this game, V Technology Incorporated needs to properly tackle these issues with full transparency and a promise for long-term dedicated support. With good support and community interaction, The QuinFall has the potential to grow into a strong MMO competitor.
