One of the largest updates ever in Fish It occurred recently. Charms became an entirely new category of items, along with the addition of the Crystalline Secrets Quest (the hardest quest to date), and the overall meta shift of the game. If you want to increase your chances of obtaining Aetherion Bait and secret fish, you have come to the right place.

↖ Charms Update: New Compared to Old Meta

Previous to the addition of the Charms meta, players had no other choice than to rely on game-generated variables to catch secret fish. However, players can now increase their chances of obtaining Charms by focusing on obtaining specific secret fish.

Here is an overview of the new charms we found:

Pro Tip: The Charms only have a 50 use limit. Try not to equip it until you are about to fish in the location, or you will waste the durability on fishing something common.

↖ The Bone Charm Location

To get the Bone Charm, you have to go to Ancient Jungle. If the Sacred Temple is still not unlocked for you, then you have to find the 4 levers/fish to open the gate (check our prior guides for the elemental rod unlock if you are still stuck at that point).Once you are in the Level 200+ expansion area, look to the right when you exit the temple. You will see the Bone Charm, which is needed to finish the index in the Underground Cellar, for sale.

↖ How to Get the Algae Charm

Travel to the Lost Isle. Instead of going up the hills, go under the water. You are looking for a temple structure that is submerged. There, you will find the Algae Charm. This is a huge help for players who are still trying to get the Ghost Fin Rod, since the Cry Glider is very difficult to catch without this.

↖ The Crystalline Secrets Quest (The Hardest Quest Yet)

In the Crystal Depths is a new NPC that is green, Ghastly Pirate. He has the Crystalline Secrets quest.

We will tell you straight up that this is probably the hardest quest in the game. The reward is Aetherion Bait, which is the rarest and best bait in the game.

To complete this, you must:

1. Own an Elemental Rod.

2. Own a Singularity Bait. (Look below for how to get this).

3. Catch a Cursed Kraken.

4. Catch an El Pirate Grand Majger. (These are in the Crystal Depths).

↖ Where Can I Get Singularity Bait?

You may be wondering where to buy singularity bait. You can't buy this type of bait in the regular bait shop.

According to our tests, Singularity Bait is sold by the Traveling Merchant who randomly appears on Fisherman Island.

Price: 8M Fish It Coins

Strategy:

The merchant's stock refreshes every few minutes. If the merchant doesn't have the singularity bait, you will have to server hop to a different merchant. It's a lot of time spent for just singularity bait but unfortunately, this is just the way it is for the quest.

↖ Side Quests: Crater Island & Volcano

If you ever want to take a break from grinding, you can do the new quests from the NPCs on the Islands. You can do luck and mutation for potions as one of the rewards.

↖ 1. The Sample Hunt Kahana Volcano

Now go to Kahana Volcano. There is a new NPC Scientist Jameson who is near the new Laboratory area. He is going to ask for 10 flag samples that have been scattered throughout the island.

Lucky For You, we've shared some key locations:

Lava Zone: There is a tunnel entrance on the right side. Look for the rocks used for parkour. Just don't fall in the lava!

Waterfalls: An entrance to the Volcano can be located to the left of the volcano. There is a red flag located there.

The Beach: Look under the Laboratory building and at the docks.

Hidden Areas: One is behind the trees to the left of the docks.

Reward: Luck Potion.

↖ 2. The Measurement Quest (Crater Island)

After helping Jameson, speak to Scientist Lucille. She gives you the measurement tool and sends you to Crater Island (behind Fisherman Island).

Find Scientist Samantha there.

How to do it: Equip the measurement tool. You will see numbers (like 72, 6, 39) pop up. Don't worry, it's legit. Don't guess. No need to guess where these numbers mean, it's not one of those 'hot or cold' games.

The Trick: Just spam the tool 15 times. The numbers are complete and utter nonsense. You just need to reach the scan count.

Reward: Mutation Potion.

↖ Codes and New Shop Items

Make sure to pick up the free items from this update before logging off.

New Code: Once you open the store, enter the words pirate majger. You will receive 2 Luck Potions, which is very helpful for the fishing you will be doing next.

New Rods: There's an Ethereal Rod (900 Robux), which has wings on it. For aesthetics, the Ethereal Rod is great, but make sure to keep using your high-level progression rods for stats.

New Boat: There's a new boat that has a top speed of 410, super fast for getting around the map.

Q: Where is the new Secret Fish El Pirate Grand Majger?

A: That fish is in the Crystal Depths. You need it for the Ghastly Pirate's quest.

Q: Singularity Bait, is it in the bait shop?

A: It's not in the regular bait boxes. You need to buy it from the Traveling Merchant for 8 million coins. If he doesn't have it, just switch to a different server.

Q: Bone Charm, does it work during the day?

A: It works while you fish, but the Bone Whale (the fish it boosts) is in the Underground Cellar at night. We recommend saving your charm durability for night fishing.

These updates have really added layers of complexity! The Charms seem to suggest that, in the future, getting a certain type of fish might be a bit more tactical rather than just relying on some luck. On another note, the Aetherion Bait quest rewards are definitely in line with the Radioactive update that the volcano's scientists seem to be prepping us for, even though it's a huge grind (the 8 million coins are a lot!).
