↖ Safe Zones and Map Expansion
The very first thing you'll notice is the new map size. It has practically doubled. It is also much more spacious, so you can avoid being squished during hectic rounds.
The layout isn't the only thing that has changed. Here is how the layout has changed:
Dual Safe Zones:
Previously, safety was only available on the right side. Safe zones have now been added to the left side, integrating with the VIP rooms.
Strategic Implication:
This means it no longer matters which side of the track you favor. If you have VIP access, you can stay in the left lane and still have safety, effectively doubling your survival options.
Verticality (The 4th Floor): Storage is a common issue in these games, and to address that, a fourth floor has been added.
- How to unlock: Look for the sign that says upgrade near the base. There are about 10 tiers to upgrade. Once you max it out, you unlock this height.
- The View: Being on the fourth floor puts you above the main signage. This is a big tactical advantage as you can see the entire map layout and all incoming waves even earlier.
↖ The Wave Machine: A Premium Experiment
When thinking about the Wave Machine, it's not hard to see why it's the most popular. As of now, Wave Tokens are still locked behind a Robux paywall. After spending 1,500 Robux to test these, we will let you decide if it is worth your money.

Here is a comprehensive comparison of all the wave types in the machine.
| Wave Type | Cost (Tokens) | Effect Description | Tactical Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beast Wave | Low | Unleash a gigantic Beast tsunami. | Visual Only. It is a bit stupid, looks scary but is just for a little effect or a minor spook. |
| Zen Wave | 50 | Half speed waves, less frequent spawns every 30 seconds. | Best for Grinding. It really alters the game all for the better. Lightening goes down in speed, waves go down in speed, you win easier. |
| Chaos Wave | 50 | Double speed, non-stop spawns every 30 seconds. | Troll Tool. Pretty much impossible to endure unless you camp in a safe zone. Use this to grief the server. |
| Ragdoll Wave | 75 | Waves will fling players instead of killing them. | Fun but Flawed. You become immortal, but the waves fling you backwards. You still survive, but you won't reach the end. |
| Pause Wave | Medium | Freezes wave spawns for 10 seconds. | Disappointing. It stops new waves from coming but does not freeze the waves that are already there. 10 seconds is not going to be super helpful. |
| Clear Wave | 200 | Instantly deletes all waves on the map. |
Overpriced.
Yes, it does wipe out the entire board, however, the next set of waves starts almost right away, so it is not worth the money.
↖ Deep Dive: Analyzing the Mechanics
Why is the Zen Wave the best option?
All other waves give you a chance of losing the game, but with this one, you can't lose. When we used the Zen Wave, the game slowed down so much that the lightning stopped, so it was almost like the game just froze. This basically gave us an entire 30 seconds of not having to worry about the other waves.
The Ragdoll Trap
The Ragdoll Wave does seem really good at first, but in practice, it really isn't. You can't die, but that just means you can't progress either, so it actually ends up making it really hard to win. Because of the waves, the egg gets thrown backward to the very start of the course, and just keeps getting pushed back over and over. You may not be dying, but you aren't moving forward at all.
The Pause Misconception
The first thought with the Pause Wave is to stop all the flowing waves. This is not the case. There is no ‘currently flowing waves' stop, so basically, you'll have a new incoming set of waves that start to flow, and this is why we thought this is one of the worst waves available, and it only lasts 10 seconds.### Spending Robux: Is it Worth it?
There are currently no free ways to obtain Wave Tokens, and the real question is, Should you spend your Robux?
Answer: Probably not. The Wave features are fun for a short period, but it doesn't give you any significant advantage. The Clear Wave for 200 tokens is also a really bad deal.
Also, since the Saturday update is right around the corner, we believe the developers will reward tokens for gameplay. It doesn't feel right for a core feature to be completely pay-to-win. We think this monetization scheme will be changing.
↖ FAQ
Q: Is there a way to get Wave Tokens without spending Robux?
Currently, there is no way to obtain Wave Tokens other than spending Robux. However, we believe that there will be ways to earn them through gameplay after this Saturday's update.
Q: Is the 4th floor available for Robux?
No, the 4th floor is available after you have upgraded the shop sign (about 10 levels) to access it.
Q: Which side of the map is safer now?
A: Both sides of the map are now viable. The update added safe zones to the left (VIP) side, mirroring the safety previously only found on the right.
Q: What happens if I use the Chaos Wave?
A: You will most likely wipe the server. The spawn rate doubles and the speed increases, making it nearly impossible for anyone to survive outside a safe zone.
↖ Conclusion
The Wave Wednesday update has rejuvenated Escape Tsunami for Brainrots. The map expansion is a significant quality-of-life improvement and makes the core gameplay better for everyone. While the Wave Machine is a fun and chaotic addition, it is too expensive for its current value. Enjoy the new map layout and save your currency for now to see what the Saturday update will bring.
