Anime Expeditions Beat M.A.S.T.R.R. Stage: Cursed Student Manga Skin Guide

The M.A.S.T.R.R. Stage is not hard because of mechanics. It is hard because one bad teammate, one bad placement, or one slow upgrade can kill the run.

The cleanest clear we used was simple: 1 Kachi + 3 Utahs, strong slows, fast economy, and no messy unit stacking. If your team follows that structure, the Cursed Student Manga skin becomes very realistic to unlock.

Best Team Setup for M.A.S.T.R.R. Stage

Run this with 4 players if possible. Random matchmaking can work, but a coordinated squad is much safer.

SlotUnitJob
Player 1Kachi Main AoE carry
Player 2Utah Copies Kachi damage
Player 3Utah Copies Kachi damage
Player 4Utah Copies Kachi damage
Any playerRookia / Slow / Stun Delays enemies
Any playerPhysical buffer Boosts Kachi damage

The whole strategy depends on Utah copying Kachi's upgraded AoE attack. Kachi does the heavy lifting. Utah multiplies it.

Unit Requirements Before You Queue

Do not enter with half-built units. This stage punishes weak accounts fast.

RequirementTarget
KachiEvolved, max or near-max level
UtahEvolved, max or near-max level
StatsS / S+ or better
Equipment Weapons and accessories equipped
Traits Helpful, not required
Support units Slows or stuns ready

If your boss keeps surviving with too much HP, your team probably lacks upgrade speed, damage stats, or proper Utah copying.

Why Kachi + Utah Is the Best Strategy

Utah's passive lets him copy an attack from the closest valid unit in range.

That is why Kachi is the best partner. Once Kachi reaches about upgrade 9–10, he becomes the main AoE engine. If Utah copies that attack, your team gets huge wave clear and boss damage.

Combo StepResult
Kachi placed center Covers most enemy paths
Kachi reaches upgrade 9–10 Unlocks major AoE value
Utah placed near Kachi Copies Kachi's attack
3 Utahs copy AoE Waves melt faster

This is the difference between barely scratching the boss and actually finishing the quest.

Best Placement for M.A.S.T.R.R. Stage

Bad placement is the fastest way to lose. Do not pile every unit in one spot.

Place Kachi in the Middle

Put Kachi near the center lane. He needs broad coverage and must stay close enough for Utah to copy him.

Spread Utah Around Kachi

Place Utah units around Kachi, but not directly stacked.

UnitBest Placement
Kachi Center coverage
Utah 1 Slightly left of Kachi
Utah 2 Slightly right of Kachi
Utah 3 Back-center or side coverage
Slows / Stuns Outer edge, away from Utah

This prevents side enemies from chewing the payload while still keeping Utah close to Kachi.

Keep Slows Away from Utah

This is important.

If Utah copies a slow unit instead of Kachi, your damage drops hard. Put Rookia, stuns, and other support units on the edge so Utah keeps copying Kachi's AoE.

If your damage suddenly feels weak, check Utah's copy target first.

Upgrade Priority During the Run

Do not spread upgrades evenly. That is how teams lose damage timing.

PriorityUpgrade TargetReason
1Kachi to upgrade 9–10 Main AoE breakpoint
2Utah upgrades More copied damage
3 Slows / stuns More control
4 Buffers Extra damage after core setup

The Kachi player should keep auto-upgrade on Kachi. Utah players should keep auto-upgrade on Utah.

Your first goal is simple: get Kachi online before the stage starts overwhelming the payload.

Best Modifiers to Pick

Modifiers decide how smooth the run feels. We had the best results with one payload defense modifier, then mostly economy and damage.

Modifier TypePriorityWhy It Works
Yen / economy Very High Faster Kachi and Utah upgrades
Payload defense High Saves the run during boss phase
Damage boosts High Helps burn boss faster
Utility Medium Good, but not core
Risky modifiers Low Not worth it unless overgeared

If Kachi reaches upgrade 9–10 too late, pick more yen next run.

If the boss kills the payload, pick more payload defense.

Boss Strategy: How to Survive the Final Push

The boss is where most teams wipe.

In our runs, boss HP varied from around 150,000 to 250,000 HP. That means some RNG is involved. But the strategy does not change.

Boss Phase Checklist

  • Keep the payload healthy before boss spawn.
  • Make sure Kachi is already upgrade 9–10.
  • Confirm Utah is copying Kachi, not a slow unit.
  • Keep slows active near enemy approach paths.
  • Do not panic-reposition unless something is clearly wrong.

In one successful clear, our payload survived with about 200 HP. It was close, but close still counts. The key is entering boss phase with enough payload HP to absorb hits while your team burns it down.

How to Claim the Cursed Student Manga Skin

Once the boss dies, the quest should complete automatically.

Rewards include the Cursed Student Manga skin, Expedition coins, and event coins.

Common Mistakes That Ruin Runs

MistakeFix
Payload loses HP early Spread Utah placement and add slows
Utah copies support unit Move support units farther away
Kachi upgrades too slowly Pick more yen modifiers
Boss survives too long Improve unit levels and equipment
Random teammates ignore roles Use a premade team

If enemies keep hitting one corner of the payload, your damage coverage is too narrow. Spread units wider.

Expedition Mode Is Still Worth Farming

Do not stop after the skin. Expedition mode gives strong account progression.

FeatureUse
Armory Reroll equipment stats
Training Grounds Level units passively
Gold Mine Farm gold using fuel
Resource Drill Generate upgrade resources
Buildings Improve future Expedition runs

The Armory is especially important. Aim for usable equipment rolls first. Anything above 50% on key stats is fine early. Push higher later.

The Gold Mine can also generate strong value. In our testing, fuel produced around 2,000 gold per fuel, with larger batches reaching roughly 120,000–150,000 gold after setup and collection.

FAQ

What is the best team for M.A.S.T.R.R. Stage in Anime Expeditions?

The best setup is 1 Kachi + 3 Utahs. Kachi provides the main AoE damage, and Utah copies that damage through his passive.

What upgrade does Kachi need?

Kachi should reach upgrade 9–10 as fast as possible. That is the main AoE breakpoint and the core of the strategy.

Why is Utah copying the wrong unit?

Your support unit is probably too close. Move slows, stuns, and buffers away from Utah so Utah copies Kachi instead.

Can I beat M.A.S.T.R.R. Stage with random players?

Yes, but it is inconsistent. A premade team is much better because everyone needs the right units, placements, and upgrade priorities.

How much HP does the boss have?

Boss HP can vary. In our runs, it ranged from about 150,000 to 250,000 HP. Strong upgrades and clean placement matter more than perfect RNG.

Summary

To beat the M.A.S.T.R.R. Stage in Anime Expeditions, run 1 Kachi and 3 Utahs. Place Kachi in the middle, spread Utah nearby, and keep support units away so Utah copies Kachi's AoE.

Rush Kachi upgrade 9–10, pick yen and payload defense modifiers, and enter the boss phase with as much payload HP as possible.

Clear the boss, claim Master Your True Love, and unlock the Cursed Student Manga skin.
