The KOWAKUJO Easter Egg is long, but it is not messy once you run it in the right order. The main rule is simple: unlock Pack-a-Punch, build the cat grenade, get the Cat Wonder Weapon, collect five evidence sets, solve the murder case, then kill the dragon.

Go into the final boss with:

 

  • Pack-a-Punch Tier 2+
  • Purple rarity or better
  • Full armor

Step 1: Unlock Pack-a-Punch

Open both sides of the map and complete the two ward captures.

1. Go to the Central Courtyard gate.

2. Remove the glyphs.

3. Enter Tenshu Entrance.

4. Push into the War Room.

5. Kill the special Oni.

6. Pick up Shogun Hango.

7. Place it in the golden circle door.

8. Go upstairs to the World Seed.

9. Kill purple-aura zombies nearby.

10. Fill the seed to spawn Pack-a-Punch.

 

Pick up every special drop. Several are needed later.

 

Step 2: Build the Maneki-Neko Grenade

You need three parts. Spawns vary.

Step 3: Get the Cat Wonder Weapon

This is the first major wall. Do it cleanly.

 

Drop the Cage into Lava

1. Buy PhD Flopper.

2. Go to Tenshu Entrance.

3. PhD flop near the hanging cage.

4. Pick up the cage.

5. Throw it into active lava.

6. Flip to the next round.

Spawn and Follow Paw Prints

Kill zombies in doorway spots until paw prints appear.

5. Throw a Maneki-Neko grenade into the circle.

6. Kill the spawned Abomination.

 

Use Pack-a-Punch or upgraded rarity here. Underpowered guns make this step drag.

 

Sneak Up on the Cat

Next round, buy Death Perception. Find the sleeping cat near glowing floorboards.

Pick up the cat and bring it to the World Seed. Wait for the pulses, then melee the seed between shockwaves until it breaks.

 

Pick up the Cat Wonder Weapon.

 

Step 4: Shoot All 11 Lanterns

Use the Cat Wonder Weapon. You must shoot all 11 lanterns quickly.

After the audio cue, go to the War Room and interact with the ghost body.

 

Step 5: Fox Mask and Mask Puzzle

After the War Room sequence:

 

1. Go to the rooftop.

2. Use the kite fast travel.

3. Hold right during flight.

4. Spam interact to grab the Fox Mask.

5. Place it on the wall near Storage Rooms / PhD side.

The wall flashes mask sequences. Kill matching masked zombies in order.

After the mask glows, interact. Then shoot it in three spots.

Place all three in the Meditation Room to reveal Painting 1.

 

Step 6: Coin Purse and Accomplice Evidence

Find the Mystery Box platform with the small tag.

 

Options:

 

  • Move the Mystery Box manually.
  • Use Fire Sale.
  • Use any box-spawn support if your build allows it.

 

At the correct box:

 

1. Throw Maneki-Neko on the Mystery Box.

2. Spin the box.

3. Pick up the Coin Purse.

4. Go to spawn near Rampage Inducer.

5. Interact with the ghost purse.

 

Now the named zombie evidence opens.

 

Step 7: Kill the Three Named Zombies

You need Gardener, Merchant, and Nobleman evidence.

Place them on the evidence wall.

 

Merchant Evidence

In Kitchens:

 

1. Melee the fruit basket.

2. Jump on the fruit three times.

3. Pick up Plum Pit.

4. Melee the shelf near Arsenal to drop another fruit.

5. Leave the area for 60–90 seconds.

6. Return and find a zombie eating fruit.

7. Lead it to the Staging Area window.

8. Kill it there.

 

The Merchant spawns. Kill him while he eats.

Place them on the wall.

 

Nobleman Evidence

Bring Decoys.

 

In Training Area, throw decoys at the three upper shuttered windows.

 

When blue grenades are thrown out:

 

1. Watch which window the Nobleman appears in.

2. Throw grenades back at that window.

3. Repeat until he dies.

Place them on the wall to reveal Painting 2.

 

Step 8: Poison Evidence

You need Monkshood, Plum Pit, and Puffer Fish.

 

Monkshood Flower

1. Pick up Poison Compendium in the War Room.

2. Grab Monkshood Flower in Flower Garden near the crack.

3. Place it in the pot near Tenshu Entrance.

 

Volcanic Ash

1. Use charged Cat Wonder Weapon shot in Training Area to drop Empty Pouch.

2. Wait for a volcanic fissure.

3. Stand in the ash cloud until low health.

4. Receive Volcanic Ash.

5. Add it to the flower pot.

 

With Juggernog, expect around half HP before it triggers.

 

Cherry Blossom Charge

Find a glowing cherry tree. Melee it if needed.

 

Stand under it until your HUD glows. Run to the flower pot and circle it until the tornado effect appears.

 

Pick up the powered Monkshood Flower.

 

Puffer Fish and Scroll Puzzle

Go to the 3x3 scroll grid in Storage Rooms.

 

Goal: push all scrolls inward.

Step 9: Sake Cup and Location Evidence

Collect two ceramic shards.

Repair the Sake Cup at the Tea Garden table. Go next round, interact with the glowing cup, then pick it up.

 

Place and defend the cup at three locations.

The third step spawns a Hellhound that steals the cup. Chase it, kill it, grab the Tea Whisk.

Step 10: Lava Statue, Clock Puzzle, and Crest Medallion

Lava Statue

Go to Stables when the lava hardens.

 

Throw a Molotov or explosive at the glowing item in the cooled lava. Pick up the dropped statue part.

 

Clock Puzzle

After Painting 4, interact with the clock in lower Storage Rooms. Note the four numbers.

 

Example: 5-3-6-4

 

Next round triggers an assault wave. Kill flag zombies. After the wave, flags appear in Staging Area.

 

Each flag's value equals its icon count.

Activate Oni traps and get 15–20 trap kills during one activation. Then interact with the hidden ghost.

3. Read the doctor note's animal at time of death.

4. On the zodiac dial, find that animal.

5. Move counterclockwise by the poison hour value.

Interact with the World Seed and purify the sword.

Step 14: Final Dragon Boss Fight

Use the kite route when ready. You cannot return.

5. Use the blue zone for protection.

6. Shoot the dragon's glowing weak spots.
