EverQuest Legends Plane of Hate Guide: Trash Routes, Chest Farming, Mini Bosses & Innoruuk Kill Strategy

Hate punishes bad positioning, not low DPS. Stand in the wrong spot and three patrols will finish what one mob started. Here's the route, the loot, and the boss tactics that actually hold up.

EverQuest Legends Plane of Hate Guide: Trash Routes, Chest Farming, Mini Bosses & Innoruuk Kill Strategy

Getting There

Oasis of Marr → tower on the middle island → west side → ramp up → ladder → Voidling.

From the Voidling you pick your version:

OptionHowUse For
Overworld Click the sword in the fire Trash, chests, most mini bosses
Raid Instance Hail Voidling, create raid Maestro, Innoruuk

Do the overworld first. It's the same map, lower stakes, and you'll learn every chest spawn and patrol lane before you're forced to execute cleanly in the raid.

The Layout in 10 Seconds

  • Floor 1A/1B — ground level + upstairs rooms, your main farming zone
  • Floor 2A/2B — upper zone, holds most of the mini boss density

You zone in at the southeast corner of Floor 1. That's your anchor point.

Highways Will Wreck You — Here's the Fix

Hate has patrol highways. Pull on one and you're not fighting one mob — you're fighting whatever wanders through in the next 15 seconds.

Why it snowballs:

  • Clerics heal whatever you're fighting
  • Golems tank long enough for a second patrol to arrive
  • Knockback shoves you straight into a third pack

The fix is boring but works: clear a building's ground floor, use it as camp, pull highway trash into the doorway. You control the chokepoint, not the street.

MethodRiskWhen
Fighting in the open High Only if heavily overgeared
Pull into buildings Low Default, always
Skip via invis/FD Medium Only if you know the pathing cold
Full clear Very Low First runs, higher difficulties

Getting adds every pull? You're too close to a highway. Move inside.

Trash Threats Worth Knowing

MobProblemCounter
Spite Golems Tanky, resistant, ugly on higher difficulty Pull solo, avoid stacking with adds
Clerics Heal themselves/others Interrupt or burn fast
Casters Spike damage on bad class rolls LoS pull
Ashenbone Drakes Heavy knockback Fight wall-to-back, always
Roamers Random add chains Pull into cleared rooms only

Pulling a golem plus two roamers undergeared isn't brave — it's a corpse run you scheduled yourself.

Farming Lustrous Russet

Chests drop breastplate, boots, legs, gloves, helm, and more — all building-based, not mob-based.

Route:

1. Clear the ground floor of a building

2. No chest? Check upstairs

3. Never fight the approach in the street

4. Log which buildings hit — build a repeat circuit

Surrounded chest room? Clear the closest patrols first. Two extra minutes beats a corpse run.

Overworld Mini Bosses

Turn on NPC tracking on your map if your class has it (Ranger/Druid/Bard benefit most).

Early cluster:

BossWhereNote
Lord of Ire / I'aire First building past zone-in Pacify or FD makes it trivial
Ashenbone Brew Master Upstairs from Lord of Ire Straightforward
Magi Upper hallway Caster fight
Avatar of Abhorrence Same hallway, opposite side Rogue-themed

Cathedral cluster (higher density, approach via highway — clear first):

BossWhereNote
Lord of Loathing Cathedral, left side Clear trash before pulling
High Priest Em K'Ar Cathedral 2nd floor Watch adds on the stairs
Courser Eastern building, upstairs Worth the detour

If you hesitate at a doorway, that's your gut telling you to clear more trash. Listen to it.

Second floor (via central ramp — watch for Ashenbone Drake knockback at the top, back to a wall always):

BossWhereRecommendation
Master of Spite Straight through upper door Skippable — resistant golem, not worth the fight
Grand Master Arutal Around the corner Kill it
Mistress of Scorn Same route Kill it

Raid Instance

Enter via Voidling. You zone into the northern second floor — everything you need is close.

TargetRequired?Why
Trash No Safety, gear, movement room
Mini bosses Optional Class drops
Maestro Yes, for full route Raid-only
Innoruuk Yes End boss

You can skip straight to Innoruuk if your class kit and gear support it.

Maestro

Easy at Difficulty 0. At Difficulty 4, check the class combo before pulling — a bad roll adds real spell pressure or nasty adds. Clear surrounding trash if it looks messy.

Innoruuk — The Real Fight

He's a level 60 wizard-type boss. That one line tells you everything: his spells kill you, not his melee.

TraitDetailCounter
Damage source Spells Mana drain, anti-caster tools
Melee Moderate, worse unslowed Slow it
Knockback Yes Corner positioning, always
Adds Deadly if nearby Clear before pulling

Priority tools:Slow and Mana Drain are the two things that turn this fight from chaos to controlled. Once his mana's gone, he's just a slowed melee mob.

Positioning:

  • Back in a corner, boss facing away from open halls
  • Clear the two corner mobs near the room before engaging
  • Never let your back face uncleared trash

Progression by Gear Level

Fresh 50: Learn overworld pathing → farm safe trash/chests → easy minis only → raid instance last.

Mid-geared: Full chest farming → key minis → raid instance practice → Maestro → Innoruuk with clean positioning.

Geared / high AA: Skip low-value trash → target chest buildings directly → rush key minis → farm Maestro/Innoruuk by difficulty → push higher tiers.

Biggest risk at this stage isn't the zone — it's overconfidence. One bad knockback still wrecks a geared player.

Loot Worth Chasing

ItemSourceWhy
Lustrous Russet Armor Building chests Core armor set
Motes Spite Golems, tough trash Progression material
Shield of the Immaculate Lord of Ire and similar All/all secondary, Cure Disease click
Maestro/Innoruuk drops Raid instance End-game gear

FAQ

What level should I be to enter Plane of Hate?

Fresh 50 works, but some AA and planar gear makes it much smoother. New players should farm overworld before touching the raid instance.

Where do I farm Lustrous Russet armor?

Building chests only. Check the ground floor first, then upstairs if empty.

Do I need to clear all mini bosses before Innoruuk?

No. Skip straight to him if your class and gear can handle it.

How do I make Innoruuk easier?

Slow him, drain his mana, corner-position for knockback, and clear nearby adds before pulling. Mana drain alone removes most of the danger.

What's the safest way to pull trash?

Clear a building first, then pull highway mobs into that doorway. Never fight in the open street.

Bottom Line

Hate rewards control, not raw gear. Use buildings as anchors, respect the highways, farm chests on a repeatable circuit, and save your cooldowns for Innoruuk's mana bar. Slow, drain, corner — that's the whole fight. Clean routing turns this zone from a corpse recovery simulator into one of the most reliable farms in the game.
