Plane of Sky looks like a maze the first time you zone in. Keys, teleport pads, eight islands, wind runes, class turn-ins — it's a lot.
Here's the truth: it's a loop, not a puzzle. Buy keys, kill bosses in order, farm runes on the side, turn in items, reset instance. That's it.
Run D0. Higher difficulty doesn't improve class quest rewards. It just slows you down.

↖ Setup: Personal Instance, D0, Solo-Ready
Grab your own instance. You need control to reset once the bosses that matter are dead.
| Choice | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Instance | Personal | Clear + reset on your terms |
| Difficulty | D0 | Same class rewards, faster clears |
| Group | Solo | Root/mez/charm/slow handles 90% of it |
| Reset | Kill key targets → shut down | Faster than waiting on respawns |
Bring 300-500 platinum. The Key Master on Island 1 sells everything you need to move.
| Key | Leads To | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Key of Swords | Island 1.5 / Djinn chain | Optional side route |
| Efreeti's Key | Quest room | For item + rune turn-ins |
| Key of the Misplaced | Island 2 | Main progression start |
Loot every key drop. Right-click on the teleport pad to bind it to your character — saves bag space, and skipping one means backtracking.
↖ Toolkit: What Actually Matters
| Tool | Use |
|---|---|
| Charm | Turns dangerous mobs into free pets — top-tier |
| Mez | Cleans up messy adds |
| Pacify | Splits pulls before they go wrong |
| Root | Buys repositioning time |
| Slow | Fewer attacks = fewer procs |
| Feign Death | Resets bad pulls instantly |
| Evasive stance | Makes Island 8 dramatically easier |
No mez? Root it. No root? Slow and tank. No control at all? Pull one at a time and reset if it goes sideways. The zone forgives bad luck, not bad planning.
↖ Island-by-Island Route
↖ Island 1 — Prep & Optional Farm
Buy keys. Thunder Spirit Princess is a strong charm target. Kill Thunder Spirits for wind runes and AA while you're here.
↖ Island 2 — Azraks → Protector of Sky
Kill Azraks near the edge until Protector of Sky spawns (timing varies — sometimes 1 kill, sometimes several). Loot the key, teleport out.
Azraks knock things airborne — annoying if charmed. A charmed Princess is smoother here.
↖ Island 3 — Gorgalosk
Pacify the Heart Harpy first, then pull Gorgalosk. Both can stun. Refresh pacify if the fight runs long. Watch for a wandering Crystalline Cloud. Shimmering Meteor is a solid charm pet if you can grab it.
One stun + one wanderer + one broken charm = corpse run. Control the small stuff.
↖ Island 4 — Keeper of Souls
Straightforward. Pull early if patrols are clear. Kill, loot, move. Not a dangerous fight.
↖ Island 5 — The Farm Island
This is the repeatable engine of Plane of Sky.
| Stage | Kill | Spawns |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Small birds | Intermediate bird |
| 2 | Intermediate bird | Guardian |
| 3 | Guardian | Lord |
| 4 | Lord | Key/loot |
Repeat the chain in the same instance once Lord is dead. Missing just a couple of class items? Park here for 30-45 minutes and grind the cycle instead of full-clearing again.
↖ Island 6 — Bee Chain (Don't Panic-Pull)
Don't kill small bees carelessly — they spawn more bees fast.
Best pull: from behind the gear structure, target the large middle bee. If a small bee tags along and you can charm it, charm it — one of the best pets in the zone.
Kill chain: large bee → next bee → small bixie → larger bixie/boss stage. If 3+ bees are chasing you, stop, invis, reset, approach from the back next time.
↖ Island 7 — Sister of the Spire
Main target is Sister of the Spire. Skip the drakes unless you specifically need their drop — knockback can launch you off the island entirely. A horse mount softens this (mounted knockback goes up, not out).
Some mage/paladin items drop from Island 7 trash, but don't chase drakes for it casually.
↖ Island 8 — Final Boss (Ibe'shan)
Higher level, more resists. Evasive/defensive stance cuts incoming damage hard. Slow if it lands — fewer attacks, fewer procs. Save cooldowns (Lay on Hands, Mend, heals) for when it counts. Damage-heavy build? Burn it. Control-heavy? Win on patience. Both work.
↖ Island 1.5 — Optional Djinn Chain
West key path. Kill Noble → move to Island 4 for Overseer of Air → Island 8 for the final Djinn target (it patrols, doesn't sit at the pad). Skip this chain entirely once you stop needing its loot.
↖ Quest Room: Class Unlocks & Wind Runes
Efreeti's Key opens the quest room. This is where drops become progress.
Turn-in formula: dropped item + matching wind rune + correct class NPC = reward, sometimes a full class unlock.
Track everything. Plane of Sky item names look similar and mismatched turn-ins waste rare drops.
| Class | Drops Needed | Runes Needed | Done? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enchanter | Item 1/2/3 | Rune A/B/C | — |
| Paladin | Weapon piece, hilt | Rune set | — |
| Mage | Crown/class items | Rune set | — |
Wind rune habits:
- Kill trash while moving — runes build naturally
- Farm Island 1 spirits for rune income
- Repeat Island 5 for combined item + rune farming
- Don't sell runes early — you don't know what you'll need later
One key weapon drop in our runs took 30+ boss kills to appear. That's normal. Every clear still nets AA, runes, or keys even when the big item doesn't drop.
↖ Best Charm Pets in the Zone
| Target | Location | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Thunder Spirit Princess | Island 1 | Strong early pet |
| Shimmering Meteor | Upper islands | High damage |
| Heart Harpy | Island 3 | Reliable control pet |
| Small Bee | Island 6 | Best pet on this list |
↖ Fast Farm Mode (Once You're Down to Specific Drops)
Stop full-clearing once your checklist is short.
| Need | Farm This |
|---|---|
| Island 3 drop | Rush Gorgalosk |
| Island 5 drop | Repeat bird chain |
| Island 6 drop | Rush bee/bixie chain |
| Final boss item | Rush Island 8 |
| Runes | Kill trash on the way through |
A full clean clear runs ~15 minutes with a strong build. Add Island 5 farming and expect another 30-45 minutes.
↖ Mistakes That Cost You Time
- Skipping keys on first clear → forced backtracking
- Careless bee kills → spawn chaos on Island 6
- Casual drake fights → knockback off the island
- Ignoring wind runes → delayed class unlocks
- Full-clearing forever → wasted time once your list is short
- Blind turn-ins → burned rare drops on the wrong NPC
- Chasing higher difficulty → same rewards, slower clears
↖ FAQ
↖ What difficulty should I run?
D0. Class rewards don't scale with difficulty, so higher settings just cost you time.
↖ Do I need a group?
No. Charm, mez, pacify, slow, root, and feign death cover almost everything solo. No control tools? Pull slower and more carefully.
↖ Which island is best to repeat?
Island 5. The bird → Guardian → Lord chain resets in the same instance, making it the best target-farm spot once you only need a few items.
↖ What's the most important non-boss farm?
Wind runes. Class unlocks need a specific item plus a specific rune. Save them early — don't sell blind.
↖ How do I unlock a new primary class?
Collect the class-specific drops, match each with its correct wind rune, and turn them in to the matching class NPC in the quest room. Completing the full set unlocks the class.
↖ Bottom Line
Plane of Sky is a repeatable farm, not a raid maze. Run D0, buy your keys, clear islands 1-8 in order, loot every key, farm runes on the move, and turn in items carefully.
Charm, mez, pacify, slow, and feign death carry most solo runs — but no single tool is mandatory. Once your checklist gets short, stop full-clearing and target-farm specific islands instead.
It's RNG-heavy. Every clear still moves you forward.
