Grow a Garden Corrupted Event: Updates, Rewards and Items

Welcome back, gardeners! Today, we're diving into the new Corrupted Event update in Grow a Garden. This guide will cover everything you need to know, from admin abuse highlights to Zen Shop changes, and the exciting Kitsune NPC chest rewards. From farming corrupted mutations to duplicating plants for exponential rewards, we've got everything covered.

Admin Abuse

The Corrupt Event update came with a surprising twist—admin abuse.

  • Celebrity Appearance: Travis Kelce made an appearance, but the event wasn't truly live. It was pre-scripted with timed triggers.
  • Rewards: Participants received two items:
    • Football Pet: Runs to the gear or seed shop for minor rewards like shekels or watering cans.
    • Fruitball Plant: A low-value plant with unimpressive stats.

Football Pet and Fruitball Plant Overview

While the rewards were underwhelming, it's worth noting that the event introduced new mutations and rare seeds.

How Does the Corrupt Event Work?

The Corrupt Event introduces a new mechanic alongside the Zen Event.

  1. Event Activation: The Zen Event triggers every hour, with a chance for a Corrupted Zen Event to appear.
  2. Corrupted Mutation: During this event, plants can acquire a noticeable corrupted mutation effect.
  3. NPC Leveling: Level up your NPC to unlock all shop slots for maximum rewards.

Zen Shop Changes

The Zen Shop received several exciting updates with new items tailored for the Corrupt Event.

Item Description
Corrupt Radar Functions like a tranquil radar but detects corrupt mutations.
Sakura Bush A new plant with unique stats (details below).
Corrupt Pet Shard Grants pets the ability to mutate nearby plants with corrupt effects.
Divine Pet Rau Occasionally devours fruit for bonus value and mutates nearby plants during storms.

Tranquil Radar and Corrupt Radar Overview

While the Rau pet looks visually stunning, its ability isn't particularly strong, even for a divine-tier pet.

Kitsune NPC & Chest Rewards

The Kitsune NPC is a game-changer for farming rewards in this event.

  • Repeatable Donation Quest: Donate 5 tranquil fruits and 5 corrupt mutated fruits to receive a Kitsune Chest.
  • Opening the Chest: Each chest contains: 3 potential seeds (e.g., Lucky Bamboo, Desin)3 potential pets (e.g., Kodama, Manaki Neko).

Corrupt Event Odds Overview

Chest Highlights

  • Manaki Neko Pet: A new pet with unique abilities.
  • Seed Pack + Pet Egg Combo: The chest combines both seed packs and pet eggs for diversified rewards.

While the corrupted Kitsune pet has a high rarity (1%), its ability could use some improvement. On the other hand, tranquil bloom is decent but not exceptional compared to other plants.

Corrupt Channeler NPC

The Corrupt Channeler NPC is the centerpiece of this event.

  • Quest Mechanic: The NPC assigns you a quest to deliver a specific mutated fruit (e.g., tranquil or corrupted strawberry) that meets a base weight requirement (e.g., 0.3 kg or more).
  • Tree Leveling: Completing quests levels up your tree, which resets every hour but provides corrupted mutations upon reset.
  • Additional Opportunities: Corrupt mutations can also be obtained during random Corrupt Zen events.

Note: Focus on completing these quests consistently to maximize your corrupted mutation collection.

Quest Rewards

Completing quests rewards players with a mix of standard and new items.

Reward Description
Normal Zen Egg Standard reward; useful for early-game progression.
Normal Zen Pack Contains essential items for garden upgrades.
Chi In-game currency to advance gameplay.
New Mutation Sprays Spray plants to trigger tranquil or corrupted mutations during events.
New Staffs Place near plants to increase mutation chances during events.
Corrupted Kodamu A new pet with unique abilities (details below).
Enaku Seed A decent seed with moderate value (see seed values section).

Corrupted Rewar Odds Overview

Best Reward: The chest is the most valuable farmable item, offering a chance to unlock rare pets and seeds.

Smaller Changes

This event also brings subtle yet impactful updates:

  • Elder Strawberry Seed: The new prismatic seed available in the seed shop. While rare, its value is underwhelming compared to other seeds.
  • Exotic Kitsune Chest: A 1% chance to obtain rainbow variants of seeds or pets from this chest.
  • Bug Fixes: Gifting is reenabled, and duplication glitches have been patched.

These tweaks improve gameplay balance and provide new opportunities for collectors and farmers alike.

All New Pets

6 new pets have been added to the game, each with unique abilities.

  • Corrupted Kitsune: The rarest pet, capable of removing nine mutations from random fruits and applying corrupted chakra. However, its ability is slightly weaker than last week's Kitsune pet due to ease of acquisition.
  • Manaki-Nico: Offers a chance to duplicate fruits after selling them. Using a full team of Manaki Nico pets could potentially lead to nearly 100% fruit duplication!

New Pets Overview

Note: If farming rewards is your goal, prioritize pets with duplication abilities like Manaki Nico for exponential returns.

All New Plants

The event introduces new plants with varying values and rarity levels.

Plant Source Average Value Average Weight (kg)
Elder Strawberry Seed Shop Moderate Low
Tranquil Bloom Kitsune Chest (1% drop) Decent Small
Bone Blossom Previous event High Moderate

Corrupted New Plants Overview

Note: The Tranquil Bloom has better value than the Elder Strawberry but falls short compared to Bone Blossom. Early-game players may find these plants useful, but advanced players should focus on higher-value seeds.

Event Core

The core of this event revolves around collecting corrupted and tranquil mutations.

  • Repeatable Reward System: You only need five corruption mutations and five tranquil mutations per submission.
  • Fruit Rarity Doesn't Matter: Any fruit works, so focus on quantity over quality.
  • Unlimited Kits Soon Chests: Submitting mutated fruits earns you repeatable rewards.

Base Tips:

  • Collect as many tranquil, corrupt, and mutated fruits as possible.
  • Spam renewable plants to speed up mutation generation.
  • AFK during corruption events or use corrupted pets for passive rewards.

Methods

Getting started is simple and accessible for all players:

  • Plant Renewable Seeds: Use seeds up to legendary rarity to prevent overcrowding in your garden.
  • AFK Farming: Leave your game running during corruption events or while pets passively generate mutations.
  • Optimize with T-Rexes and Mimics: If you own these pets, they can spread mutations quickly across your garden.

Night Plants Duplication

  • Use Moon Cats: These pets give night-type plants a chance to remain after harvest, effectively duplicating them.
  • High Duplication Rates: With enough Moon Cats, you can achieve up to an 80–90% chance of duplication per harvest.

Example:  Harvest a tranquil blood banana, and it replants itself automatically. Repeat the process for massive gains!

This event is one of the easiest ways to farm unlimited rewards in Grow a Garden. By combining mutation spreading techniques with plant duplication strategies, you'll quickly accumulate corrupted and tranquil fruits for submission.
