If your goal is to snag that legendary Nocturnal Pet Shard, or if you want to turn your current Mimic into a 15-second cooldown machine, this Christmas event is your golden window.
This update isn't just a snow reskin; it completely shifts the Meta. Specifically, the new Hyper Hunger talent is arguably better than Nightmare. What does this mean? It means if you have a Mimic around 60kg (or age 117), this talent can literally transform it into a top-tier, 15-second cooldown pet. You no longer need to hunt for natural god-tier pets; you can build one yourself!
But to get the resources, you need a mountain of Christmas presents. Here is the Infinite Present Method that will fill your inventory in under an hour.
↖ Phase 1: The Setup (Spreading the Snow)
Before we start harvesting, we need to turn the entire garden into a winter wonderland. The core logic here is using pets to mutate normal plants into Christmas variants (Snowy/Frozen).

The MVP: T-Rex
This is the current answer to the meta. The T-Rex's ability to spread mutations is absolutely broken right now.
How to use:
Equip your T-Rex alongside your Mimic squad. The T-Rex will aggressively mutate everything around it into Snowy variants.
The Data:
In testing, a single T-Rex paired with Mimics can stack the Snowy mutation over 33 times in seconds. This efficiency is unmatched.
The Budget Alternative: Penguin

Don't have a T-Rex? Don't panic. The Penguin is the best budget alternative. While it looks goofy—and yes, it turns your character into a penguin—it can still cover your field in snow in about 30 minutes. This is perfect for AFK players, especially if you leave it running overnight.
↖ Phase 2: The Harvest Loop
Once the ground is covered in snow, it's harvest time. We need a completely different pet loadout here to maximize gains.
Essential Gear: Pack Bees + Axolotl
The goal of this combo is simple: Harvest while automatically replanting, triggering double drops.
1. Pack Bees:

How to get them cheap:
Do not get scammed in the trading plaza. Open your Index, search for Pack, and click Find Sellers.
Price Anchor:
I recently bought mine for just 16 Robux. If you see someone selling for 100 R$, hop servers immediately. A fair price is around 15-20 Trade Tokens.
2. Axolotl:

I definitely recommend the Axolotl over the Buffalo. They seem to trigger the replant mechanic more efficiently during the harvest, allowing you to get double or triple the plants per node.
↖ Critical Detail: Inventory Cleansing (Do Not Skip!)
Many players DM me asking, Why did my efficiency drop halfway through? This is why.
When you use the Axolotl to harvest, you pick up both Mutated Plants (Snowy) and Normal Plants.
If you find that your inventory is full even after submitting the quest, you must manually click Sell All.
Why is this necessary?
The event quest only accepts Christmas mutated plants. If you don't clear your bag, the leftover normal strawberries or coconuts will clog your slots, preventing you from picking up new mutated ones in the next run. It's like trying to fill a bucket that's already full of rocks.
My Experience:
I forgot to sell the normal plants earlier and was only getting 6-7 presents per run. After clearing my inventory properly, that number jumped to over 20 presents per run.
↖ Automation Tips: Using Macros
This method is perfectly set up for a simple Macro.
- Plant Choice: While Coconuts give 2 extra points compared to Strawberries, the difference is negligible when you are AFK farming.
- Strategy: Set a simple loop: Harvest → Submit Quest → Sell Remaining → Repeat.
↖ FAQ: Common Questions
Q: Do I absolutely need Mimics for this?
A: Not strictly, but the efficiency gap is massive. Mimics copy the T-Rex's ability, making the mutation spread exponentially faster. Without Mimics, your setup time will be much longer (stick to the Penguin overnight method).
Q: Is Hyper Hunger actually better than Nightmare?
A: The community consensus is leaning towards Yes. Especially for heavy pets (60kg+), the cooldown reduction from Hyper Hunger is insane, turning a mid-tier Mimic into a T0 god pet.
Q: Why Axolotl and not Buffalo?
A: While both function similarly, the Axolotl feels smoother in the current Christmas update loop and is generally cheaper to find. However, if you already own Buffaloes, they work fine too.
↖ Summary & Action Plan
This Christmas event is a massive win for free-to-play players in Grow a Garden. You don't need to spend big on Robux pets; you just need to exploit the T-Rex mutation mechanic and the Axolotl harvest loop.
Remember the Formula:
T-Rex Setup + (Pack Bees + Axolotl) Harvest + Clear Inventory = Infinite Presents.
Now, go check the Index for some cheap Pack Bees, set up your macro, and secure that 15-second cooldown Mimic before the event ends!
Merry Christmas and happy farming
