Fantasy Life i has a multiplayer Outing feature that allows players to group with three other friends from different consoles. As interesting as this may sound, there are certain restrictions and requirements that need to be met in order to use the multiplayer feature.

↖ Steps To Unlock The Multiplayer Feature

To unlock multiplayer features in Fantasy Life, it is necessary that you first complete certain milestones in the game's story. During our playthrough, this milestone was reached within four hours. If you decide to explore or level up your character's jobs, it could take longer than four hours. The multiplayer feature becomes accessible after the guild hall has been built. Remember, this is not the guild hall where you choose your starting job.

Talk to Colm after visiting the guild hall's back room. This will grant you the ability to play with friends online. Note that for online multiplayer, a subscription to the console's online service is needed (Play Station Plus for Sony consoles).

Multiplayer provides lots of exciting gameplay opportunities, but does come with limitations:

Story Progression: Advancing the main story is restricted while playing together online.

Quests: Players cannot take or complete any quests, including lifemaster quests, during multiplayer gameplay.

Quest Turn-Ins: Submitting completed quests is also restricted.

Exploration: Venture with other players into open world regions like islands and caves that are full of wonders.

Area Challenges: Accomplishing area challenges requires a group effort to complete multiple smaller objectives. Filling a progress bar unlocks legendary challenges for your party.

Activities: Participate in battling boss monsters, fishing, mining and other activities.

Experience Gain: Even if a player is unable to unlock more story content, they can earn experience points and complete roster tasks to increase the level of their character.

Multiplayer Merchant: During multiplayer segments, players have access to a specialized merchant who sells Fli Items Themeridian multi supplies.

↖ Time Limits in Multiplayer

Fantasy Life as a game has a very unique aspect, the time limitation when playing multiplayer. This will be capped at either 30 minutes or 60 minutes depending on the session. Once the time elapses the players are brought back to the hub, however immediate re-venture with the same party. Although this mechanic does not heavily affect gameplay, it feels entirely pointless.
