Spiritvale Gunslinger Launcher Build: Explosive Grenade AoE Rotation Guide

Launcher Boost turns one Explosive Grenade cast into a chain of free explosions. That's the whole build. Here's how to run it without going dry on MP.

Spiritvale Gunslinger Launcher Build: Explosive Grenade AoE Rotation Guide

What This Build Does

Launcher = damage. Pistol + Shield = MP battery.

Core skills:

  • Explosive Grenade — main burst, triggers Launcher Boost
  • Freeze Grenade — CC + vulnerability stacks
  • Poison Grenade — DoT pressure
  • Normal attacks (during Boost) — auto-cast more Explosive Grenades

This is not an AFK build. You're swapping weapons, managing MP, and timing bursts every cycle. If that sounds tedious, skip it. If you like tight rotations that hit like a truck, keep reading.

CategorySetup
Main Weapon Launcher
Secondary Pistol + Shield
Main Skill Explosive Grenade
Support Skills Freeze Grenade, Poison Grenade
Strength Fast clears, heavy status stacking
Weakness MP-hungry, gear-swap heavy

A clean pull dies inside a single 3-second Boost window. That's the payoff.

Launcher Boost: The Engine Room

Cast Explosive Grenade → Boost activates:

  • Lasts 3 seconds
  • 6-second cooldown
  • 100% chance to auto-cast Explosive Grenade on normal attacks
  • Locks attack speed at 175 (can't go higher)

Fixed attack speed sounds bad. It's actually a gift — you stop dumping stats into ASPD and pour everything into crit, ranged ATK, skill damage, and survival instead.

At 175 ASPD you get roughly 6 auto-casts per window.

ActionMP CostResult
Manual cast 60 MP Triggers Boost
6 auto-casts 360 MP Explosion chain
Total420 MP One burst window

420 MP in 3 seconds. That's the catch.

Fixing the MP Problem

This build doesn't die to damage numbers. It dies to empty MP bars.

Boost has a 6-second cooldown but only lasts 3. That leaves 3 seconds of dead time every cycle — don't waste it standing there.

Swap to Pistol + Shield during downtime to:

  • Regen MP
  • Reposition
  • Pull the next pack
  • Tank hits with shield utility
PhaseWeaponJob
Setup Pistol + Shield Pull, CC, regen MP
Burst Launcher Explosive Grenade + Boost
Recovery Pistol + Shield Refill MP, reposition

If MP keeps hitting zero, don't buff damage first. Fix sustain first. A build that dies mid-rotation clears nothing.

The Rotation

Don't spam grenades randomly. Build the window, then detonate it.

StepActionWhy
1 Fanfire Pull/aggro
2 Slow Trap Group + vulnerability
3 Freeze Grenade CC + more vulnerability
4 Poison Grenade DoT stacking
5 Explosive Grenade Triggers Boost
6 Normal attack Auto-cast chain
7 Swap to Pistol + Shield Regen
8 Repeat

Stack effects before you burst:

EffectStacksImpact
Vulnerability ~25 +25% skill damage
Burning 150+ Sustained pressure
Poison 120+ Finishes survivors
Freeze/Slow Keeps mobs in the AoE

Casting Explosive Grenade before mobs are grouped is the #1 way to waste a Boost window. Don't do it.

Stats

StatValueWhy
DEX 99 Non-negotiable ranged damage
AGI 99 Flee + safer pulling
LUK 50 Crit rate/damage
INT 50 (optional) MP pool + comfort

DEX carries the damage. AGI isn't about ASPD here — it's flee for safer pulling. INT is the fix button when MP keeps crashing.

SymptomFix
Dying while pulling More AGI, better shield card
MP crashes every rotation Add INT / MP cards
Damage feels weak DEX, Launcher cards, grenade gems
Burst inconsistent LUK + crit gear

Gear (Pre-100)

Weapons:

SlotGearPurpose
Pistol 4x V Card MP regen
Shield Buckler + Hawker/Maple Asian Card Sustain/utility
Launcher 4x Fire Wisp or Inferno Wyvern Card Main damage

Headgear/Utility: Crimson Crest, Eye Patch, Wings of Bor — all slot Spark Tree Card for mobility.

Armor:

SetUse Case
Wind Strider Safer, more forgiving
Pirate Set Aggressive damage push
SlotCard
Chest Pine Trent
Legs Vanilla Ice
Shoes Rabbit / Storm Coil

Run Wind Strider while learning the rotation. Switch to Pirate once weapon-swapping is muscle memory.

Accessories — Eternal Set (Iron Ank + Bronze Crescent):

+1,000 HP, +200 MP, +50% MP Regen. This set alone solves half your sustain problems.

Artifact — Eternist Set: strong all-round stats, unlocks Lv5 Heal + Lv5 Haste.

Gems — Explosive Grenade, Freeze Grenade, Poison Grenade. Don't skip Explosive Grenade — it's the engine.

Grimoires — Skirmisher's Blow, Hunting Ground, Chain Reaction.

Skills Priority

SkillPriority
Explosive Grenade Max first
Freeze Grenade High
Poison Grenade High
Fanfire Medium-High
Slow Trap Medium-High
Heavy Loadout Utility — enables swapping

Auto-cast Explosive Grenade scales with skill level. Maxing it early buffs both your manual cast and every triggered explosion during Boost.

Level 100+ Upgrades

PriorityUpgrade
1 Launcher cards
2 MP sustain gear
3 Precision Plate/Shoes/Gauntlets, Compass of Dawn
4 Crit + ranged damage
5 Defensive upgrades

Mobs surviving your burst? Upgrade damage. Can't finish two rotations? Upgrade MP first — always.

Strengths & Weaknesses

StrengthWeakness
Fast AoE clears Heavy MP consumption
No luxury boss cards required Constant weapon swapping
Multi-status stacking Not idle-friendly
Good mobility Punishes bad pulls

FAQ

Is this build beginner-friendly?

Usable, not easy. Gear requirements are reasonable, but the rotation and weapon swapping demand active play. Practice on low-density maps first.

Why Launcher AND Pistol?

Launcher deals the damage. Pistol regens the MP that Launcher burns through. Skip the pistol phase and you'll run dry within two rotations.

Do I still need AGI if Boost locks attack speed?

Yes. AGI here is about flee, not ASPD — it keeps you alive while gathering mobs before the burst.

What if MP keeps running out?

Pistol with MP-regen cards, Eternal Set accessories, INT investment. If still dry, trim unnecessary casts before the burst window.

Is this build expensive to build?

No. It runs fine without rare boss cards. The power comes from rotation timing and skill interaction, not gear price tags.

Bottom Line

This build works because of the loop, not raw stats:

1. Pull with Fanfire

2. Group + weaken with Slow Trap and Freeze Grenade

3. Layer Poison Grenade

4. Trigger Boost with Explosive Grenade

5. Auto-cast through normal attacks

6. Swap to Pistol + Shield, refill, repeat

Solve the MP problem and this build outpaces setups with far better gear. Master the timing, and packs stop being a threat — they're just XP.
