Random saddle drops are a waste of time. These two Genesis missions solve that — 80-90 armor Acro saddles, 65 armor crocodile saddles, plus tech gear on the side. Here's exactly how we run them.

Mission 1: Long Grass Pollen (Acro Saddles)

Location: ~82, 73. Bring any decent Acro — we used a 600 melee one, nothing special.

Early Phase: Don't Fight, Just Run

Scan point → wait 10s → clear spawns. Repeat ~10 times.

The mistake most players make: fighting everything between checkpoints. Don't. Only fight if you're physically stuck. Everything else — ignore and push forward.

Pollen Collection: The Part That Slows Everyone Down

Green gas clouds surround the plants. This is where runs die.

1. Damage the plant first (sword or tame)

2. Press E to collect

3. Use a whip — noticeably faster than a sword

4. Wear a gas mask — full immunity to the gas, non-negotiable if you want speed

The Run Back: Treat It Like a Race

Spinos and spiders swarm you on the return. You don't need to kill any of them.

• Stay center, avoid getting boxed in
• Spiders slow you — avoid them specifically, worse than spinos
• Cryopod your Acro or run it back manually — both work, running lets you scout

Real results: One run = 3 Acro saddles. Another run = 62-armor saddle + 4 Aqua Cells. This mission over-delivers, consistently.

Mission 2: Bog Beta (Dinopithecus / Crocodile Saddles)

Four loot types per run: crocodile saddle, tech chest, tech helmet, assault rifle.

Build: Melee Is the Entire Strategy

Weapon damage here scales with your melee stat, not gear score. A maxed ranged build is useless.

• 100 melee clears Gamma comfortably
• 250 melee (what we used) is overkill for demonstration, not a requirement
• Focal Chili + Battle Tartare boost melee damage — but Battle Tartare blocks all healing. If you're low HP, wait it out before chugging med brews.

Damage Numbers Don't Lie

Wyverns: aim up, hold left click. That's it. They die fast once you connect.

Weapon Rotation (Same Spawns Every Run)

1. Metal pipe — early waves, ~9K hits

2. Broadsword — purple glow = active buff. Save this for the boss, don't waste it on trash waves

3. Repeat pattern each round — spawns are consistent, learn the pattern

Boss Fight: Broodmother in 3 Hits

Final wave. Full heal. Battle Tartare active.

• Grab the damage buff first
• Attack from behind — this is the key positioning
• Result: 3 hits killed it. A stronger melee build could realistically 5-hit clear, meaning near-instant.

Real results: Tech helmet pieces, crocodile saddle drops in the 60-65 armor range on Beta. Alpha pushes higher.

Which One Should You Run First?

Farming saddles specifically? Start with Pollen. Want varied high-value loot? Bog Beta wins.

Do I need Alpha difficulty for good saddles?

No. Beta already gives 80-90 armor on Pollen and 60-65 on Bog Beta. Alpha just raises the ceiling.

What if I skip the gas mask on Long Grass Pollen?

You'll survive, but you'll eat unnecessary damage and move slower. Mask = full immunity. Just bring one.

Can I run Bog Beta with a ranged build?

No. Damage scales with melee, not weapon tier. Ranged builds massively underperform here.

Why can't I heal during Battle Tartare?

It's the trade-off for the damage boost. If you're low HP, wait for it to expire before using med brews — healing through it doesn't work.
