With the launch of Elden Ring: Nightreign, players can expect a brand new gameplay experience with the addition of eight classes distinctively titled Nightfarers. Players will be able to choose one of these Nightfarers to guide through their adventure journeys at the time of release. Here, we will outline in detail all classes, their looks, and their abilities.
Unlike the usual FromSoftware games where players get to design their own heroes, Elden Ring: Nightreign compels players to pick from set characters referred to as Nightfarers. These characters are class-based and come with distinct looks, and class-specific skills that only they can use. Nightfarers, when used, can diversify team structure and enhance cooperation which adds variety and surprise to combat.

The Wylder is the quintessential sword and shield fighter. This class makes things simpler for novice players because of its passive skill that grants the Wylder one free death avoidance. Also, the Wylder has a grappling hook which can be used to close gaps or pull foes towards him. His ultimate can transform the hook into an explosive bolt that can deal massive damage when fully charged.

Passive Ability: Sixth Sense
Wylder's passive ability grants him a cheat death attempt once per run which activates automatically. To elaborate, Wylder gets to skip the first death in a run and get a chance to continue.

As a brown eagle with her wings transformed, the Guardian can storm with her character talent. Even with the tank class, the Guardian is not sluggish. He is still able to do aerial assaults to clear areas with his ultimate attack.

↖ Duchess: The Agile Assassin
As a melee combatant, the Duchess is an agile fighter who can easily dodge attacks, thanks to her passive skill. She has the ability to copy recent attacks with an increased damage multiplier, which is granted through her character talent. With her ultimate, she renders herself and allies invisible; this ability can be used for scouting or setting up ambushes for enemies. While she can be extremely powerful, she is not recommended to beginners.

Passive Ability: Magnificent Poise

Character Skill: Restage

↖ Recluse: The Arcane Mage
A Recluse is a true representative of the mage class. Dealing heavy damage at range and having average health makes her a powerful foe. Her passive skill allows her to gather affinity traces (FP) and restores focus points. Her talent lets her combine these traces to form powerful spells. A mark of the blood seal is affixed to the enemies, which allows his teammates to replenish health and FP by attacking them. This makes her a support character while strengthening allies.

Passive Ability: Elemental Defense

Character Skill: Magic Cocktail
Uses gathered elemental residues to create a blast centered explosion of a certain affinity. Activation requires triangle and L2.

↖ Iron Eye: The Precision Archer

Its marking ability weakens foes by granting damage modifiers, creating dependencies for damage. The ultimate is contended by drawing a large bow to fire a supersonic arrow which guarantees maximum damage while bypassing any defences.

↖ Passive Ability: Eagle Eye
Passive Ability Eagle Eye makes it so one's individual loot drop chances, as well as that of his allies, are augmented.
↖ Character Skill: Marking
An enemy can be marked by striking them which creates a weak spot on them which makes them vulnerable to crits. Activation is done via some combination of triangle and L2.
↖ Ultimate Ability: Single Shot
Upon activation by holding triangle and R2, a powerful arrow is fired which will pierce through enemies and objects in its way dealing heavy damage in the process
↖ Raider: The Strength Build
Also known as the aggressive tank variant, the Raider differs from the Guardian. This class's passive ability allows for no knockdown during retaliation countered striking which can knock back bosses. The ultimate skill grants the user the ability to summon a massive gravestone that can create distance, momentarily removing the user from danger while protecting nearby allies. This is very powerful when coupled with Iron Eye's bow ult that can strike from any distance.

Passive Ability: Fighter's Resolve
Alleviates damage resistance and additionally grants buffs to adjacent allies. This is the Passive Ability: Fighter's Resolve.
Character Skill: Retaliate
This skill provides a counterattack ability which retaliates to an enemy attack with added damage. It can be activated via a combination of triangle and L2.
Ultimate Ability: Totem Stellar
This skill is activated via holding triangle and R2 which allows the user to place a totem that increases the parameters of the team and puts them under AoE buffs.
↖ Executor: The Parry Master
Not much is known about the Executor apart from a short glimpse in the latest trailer. This katana-wielding class is adept in parrying and performs powerful counterattacks with the katana which are capable of repelling foes. The horizontal wide slash is suggestive of multi-hit attacks.

↖ Revenant: The Spirit Summoner
Revenant details are scarce other than the elastic with a harp, Ranni from Elden Ring cosplaying as a filler character. Speculation has it that the class could serve as a summoner role, possibly able to summon spirits or souls of slain foes to the battlefield.

↖ Availability at Release
It's still unclear whether all classes will be available upon initial launch. An older Steam description hinted at DLC with added bosses and classes, though that particular line has now been deleted. Whether or not FromSoftware will lock certain classes behind a paywall is still up in the air. That said, the four classes showcased in the Network Test should be accessible at launch.
