Here's the good news: once you know the map's logic, none of that matters. This guide skips the fluff and gives you the exact routes, tames, and setups that work.

Element: Dunir Boss Fight

Element is locked behind Dunir. Start the fight from runestones scattered across the map — decent flexibility on where you commit.

Army options:

Dunir's thunderstorm hits hard. Raw HP won't save you — bring Sweet Veggie Cakes if running Ferox or herbivores.

Rewards:

• Gamma: 24 Element
• Beta: 68 Element
• Alpha: 178+ Element

Element numbers aren't huge, but each difficulty drops 5 loot crates. Run it for the gear, not just the element.

If your army keeps dying, check these first:

• Saddle armor too low
• Breeding lines undercooked
• No healing support
• Underestimating storm damage
• Skipping Beta before Alpha

Silica Pearls: North Abyssal Cave

Best spot: North Abyssal cave, around 4.4/93.7.

Why it wins:

Bring an Anglerfish. Hand-farming pearls works, but only as an early-game stopgap — it's too slow long-term.

Black Pearls: Abyss Nodes vs. Tusoteuthis

Tusoteuthis are riskier than pearl nodes, but they double as a keratin source — worth killing if you're already in the water.

Don't dive in blind. Scout with a cheap, expendable water tame first. Bring your real gear once you know the creature density.

Metal: Geyser Tunnel Farming

Bjarnheim has no Dunkleosteus. That means no easy underwater metal harvester — so we improvise.

The setup:

1. Tame 2 Ankylosauruses

2. Get a Karkinos (bottom of the Abyss)

3. Karkinos carries the Ankys into the geyser tunnels

4. Farm the deep metal

5. Karkinos hauls the loot out

This route isn't beginner-friendly, but once running, it's the strongest metal method on the map.

Getting a Karkinos:

On a cluster? Transfer a prepped carrier instead — saves hours.

Chitin, Keratin & Cementing Paste

Chitin/Keratin:

• Deadlands mantises (chainsaw) — bonus organic polymer
• Cave insects (Megatherium) — bulk, low risk
• Tusoteuthis — pearls + keratin combo

Cementing Paste:

Beaver dams near 56/80 drop roughly 500–600 paste per dam on lower settings.

Rule: empty the whole dam. Take the wood too. Leave it behind and respawns get inconsistent — plus your tribe looks lazy.

Organic Polymer

Need polymer fast? Penguins. Farming chitin at the same time? Mantises.

Constantly short on polymer? Your crafting pipeline is too dependent on the organic version — build a crafted-polymer backup using obsidian + paste.

Congealed Gas & Ambergris

Both live in the geyser tunnels. Both require prep.

Gas: Drop Gas Collectors on veins. Veins are easy to miss — mark them the first time you find one. Run multiple collectors to cut down on repeat trips.

Ambergris: Comes from luminous rocks near the Abyss edge. Critical if you're raising Magmasaurs. Treat it as a supply run: in, farm, out. This isn't sightseeing territory.

Oil, Honey & Sap

Oil:

• Dead whales — easiest early source (oil + hide + spoiled meat)
• Oil rocks — better for bulk, but need underwater protection

Honey: Tame a queen bee in Ironbark Forest. Place the hive at base, harvest regularly.
