COD Black Ops 6 Jackal PDW: Best Ranked SMG Mete Weapons Guides

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Ranked Play has experienced a massive overhaul over the course of the past few weeks which has left many players confused and unsure of the next steps to take.  This article will explain the significant changes to the SMG Meta, as well as the emergence of substitute weapon options and how you can make the most out of your performance on the map.

The Evolution of the SMG Meta Changes

The nerfing of certain weapon attachments and the Jackal PDW, which has notoriously been considered the best SMG in the competitive scene, was one of the crucial changes to the Black Ops 6 meta. Here are some major changes offered:

Elimination of Attachment Restriction: Remarkably, a lot of attachments that could be earned in the previous few tiers are stripped away, and most are not given back. One of the most beneficial recent modifications has been the addition of the recoil springs. Thrusting horizontal/vertical recoil control to the weapon. Before this change, players were put in a position where they were forced to fight with an incredibly unstable weapon, which faced the issue of maintaining a reasonable level of accuracy at distance.

Barrel Adjustments: With the removal of all barrels except for the Gain Twist Barrel, players are now forced to use different load out strategies. Although this barrel is still useful; it lacks variety in terms of customization and therefore, other attachment combinations are being tried out.

Stock Debate: On the other hand, the Jackal SCAR SMG players seem to still be fighting among themselves to determine whether the Balance Stock or the Infiltrator Stock is better for SMG's. After much testing, quite a few players, me being one of them, have now started using the Infiltrator Stock. The gain in aim-walking movement speed to 4.3 from 4.1 with the Balance Stock is enticing in ranting gunfights. The loss in movement speed and crouch movement speed is undeniably worse, but for a lot of players these trade offs just do not matter.

Ergonomic Rear Grip and Range Foregrip: These attachments still remain constant features in the Jackal PDW load out due to their benefits for a scoped aim sprint movement speed and sprinting aim movement speed, as well as horizontal recoil control. Together, they build a weapon that is both light and accurate.

The Surge in Popularity of the C9 SMG

While the C9 SMG is a great submachine gun, it still does not come close to the Jackal PDW. Ever since the C9 received its Long Barrel attachment which allows it to do well at longer distances, players have been switching from the Jackal due to all the nerfs it received.

The C9 does come with certain downsides, however:

Lower Mobility: With its versatility in terms of distances, the C9 left behind its agility along with it. It is not good for dominating playstyles where the user needs a lot of mobility.

Slower Aim-Down-Sight (ADS) Speed: Even with the Commando Grip, the C9 does not come close to competing with the other SMG.

Those who prefer a more defensive or passive style approach will do well with the C9, especially those who prefer tight angles or close-quarters combat as the C9 can be used comfortably. Nevertheless, users who tend to be on the move constantly or enjoy quick engagements will have to stick to the Jackal.

Tier List Analysis

When it comes to my personal opinion after conducting my own tests, the two SMGs are even:

Jackal PDW: S-Tier

Nopes more than the C9, but my overwhelming choice for competitive play because of the ample mobility, versatility, and quickness.

Attachment Detail Unlock Level
Optic KEPLER MICROFLEX PP 919: LEVEL 15
Muzzle COMPENSATOR LEVEL 18
Barrel GAIN-TWIST BARREL LEVEL 7
Underbarrel VERTICAL FOREGRIP LEVEL 2
Rear Grip ERGONOMIC GRIP LEVEL 32

C9: A-Tier

This option is superb since it has a best TTK, but it's slow to handle and move, which is a drawback.

Attachment Detail Unlock Level
Optic KEPLER MICROFLEX PP 919: LEVEL 15
Muzzle COMPENSATOR LEVEL 18
Barrel GAIN-TWIST BARREL LEVEL 7
Underbarrel VERTICAL FOREGRIP LEVEL 2
Rear Grip ERGONOMIC GRIP LEVEL 32

Although both weapons are useful in Ranked Play, the Jackal is superior when it comes to comfortably moving up the leaderboard and consistently getting wins.

Tactics for Advanced Ranked Play

It is evident that weapon choice alone won't get you far in high-level Ranked Play. Here are a few more pointers to help you get the best possible results:

Adapt to Map Control: This relates to understanding spawn logic and managing important parts of the map, which is key. For instance, you can block spawns by camping certain locations on the map so players from the opposing team can't get to certain spots.

Team Coordination: This is important concerning battling choreographed squads. Communicating lobby dead or pushing rugs will allow others to reposition and get the jump on the opponents.

Flexibility in Playstyle: Pushing aggressively can work, but if you choose to pre-aim or rotate early, you will need to be disciplined. Having the ability to stay aggressive and controlled is critical in close games.

Matchmaking Difficulties: At higher ranks, factors such as inconsistencies in matchmaking systems can set in. Meticulously traversing top class challenges, or four stacks, of iridescent players is mentally strenuous. Similarly, some competitors prefer avoiding matches or quitting during gameplay when they meet proficient teams.

Closing Thoughts About the Ladder System

The constant change in the game's meta forces players to adapt and reinvent their approach constantly. Regardless if you are a veteran in the game or a novice trying to establish yourself in the ranks, knowing the changes in weapons and customizing your loadouts to provide the best chances for achieving them is indispensable.
