Optimizing these settings according to your preferences can make a game a whole lot easier, thus allowing you to control your character in a more responsive manner. As good as given configurations may sound, do try out different ones and see what suits you the most.

Advanced Movement Techniques

Now, let us look at some of the advanced movements that might be useful for you in Black Ops 6. We will detail each technique in a short description that we think might help you to understand and master them:

Hybrid Controls

Selecting a unique Hybrid controls mechanism which will provide a one of a kind way to develop your movement. With the help of a sprint, a slide and a dive together, players can get a variety of actions done.

Action Input
Sprint and Slide Push left analog down
Slide and Dive Hold left analog down
Sprint, Slide, and Dive Push left analog then dive

Learning Hybrid controls will help you run more smoothly on the field as it runs all of the different movements that were available in BO6. Once you have these advanced controls in your arsenal, it may take some time using them properly but the results of using Hybrid in your gameplay will be astonishing.

BO6 Aiming Settings Overview

Slide Cancel & Sideways Slide Cancel

Slide Canceling is an essential part of the movement control that makes it easy for a player to reposition him or herself as going into battle. On top of the slide cancel that most people are accustomed to, the game has developed an innovative sideways slide cancel.

Slide Cancel Technique

The slide cancel is carried out through a sequence of actions that close with a precise jump. The sequence in this case is sprinting, sliding and jumping. This attack combination enables the player to stiffen in his slide and become shoot ready.

Step Action
1. Sprint Begin sprinting to build momentum.
2. Slide Initiate a slide to quickly reposition.
3. Jump  Perform a jump to cancel the slide and prepare for engagement.

Sprint Slide Aim

Aiming while performing your slide cancel could also further improve your ability to shoot with accuracy. You could perform the action of jumping, but this time around, it will be an aim-ready jump after you first sprint, slide and jump. Take a look at these sequences in order to learn how to perform the sprint slide aim technique.

Step Action
1. Sprint Start sprinting to gain speed.
2. Slide  Execute a slide to reposition swiftly.
3. Aim Aim down sights while sliding to be prepared for combat.
4. Jump Perform a jump to exit the slide and maintain aim.

Sideways Slide Cancel

The idea of movement has received an expansion throw the inclusion of sideways slide cancel. Players can now perform sideways slides, and aim in any direction which gives better tactical options in the battle fights.

  • Sideways Movement: If you are running and want to 'slide left or right',  you can do so with the left stick and 'Sliding' – This lets you shift laterally while still being catapulted towards the slide direction.
  • Aiming Options: Why bother with potential hitboxes and lock-on physics when you can wipe out an entire enemy squad in one motion? When performing a sideways slide be sure to give your opponents the aim to infuriate them.
  • Backward Sliding: In tandem with side sliding, players can also perform backward slides to further add variability whilst in combat.

BO6 Movement Settings Overview

Long Slide

The extended slide lets you travel a great distance at once while still being fast. This powerful action is performed by running, jumping, aiming and then sliding

Action Description
Run Begin by running to build momentum for the slide
Jump Jump to initiate the slide
Aim Maintain your aim while in mid-air to control your direction
Slide Execute the slide to cover a substantial distance quickly

You can also much faster traverse the game world using this combination of actions making it hard for your opponents to keep track of you.

Don't Jumpshot

Although interesting, jump shotting is not a commendable practice. In this practice, a player jumps while aiming or shooting which has bad effects on the accuracy of the player, as the performance in gunfights suffers. Thus Jump shotting is one practice to avoid

  • Jump shooting gives the reticle and the gun a lot of movement which in turn causes inaccuracy.
  • Jumping and then landing after shooting causes the center of vision to shift hence accuracy is lost.
  • Shooting experience is reduced while combat experience is lost which makes a player quite ineffective.

Over time, this practice becomes embedded in muscle memory, but it is important to switch it off or eradicate this behavior in order to perform better in battles in Black Ops 6.

Corner Peaking

Corner peaking, also called shouldering or shimmying, is an indirect combat information gathering technique which does not involve a shootout. With the introduction of Omni movement, players can now sprint in any direction and this increases the effectiveness of corner peaking.

Advantages of Corner Peaking:

  • Safer information gathering
  • Faster movement
  • Reduced risk of being hit

During sprints, players will be able to gather information quicker while reducing their chances of being shot at such that they find it easier to look for enemies on the map.

Backwards Slide

The backwards slides, as evasive techniques are effective in defeating enemies and improving chances of one standing firm in tussle.

Steps:

  1. Press the left analog stick once to initiate sprinting.
  2. While sprinting, execute a slide cancel by pressing the crouch button.
  3. Immediately aim in while sliding backwards using the left analog stick.

Once perfected, it can help you become more evasive which will in turn allow you to thrive even in combat situations. It enables you to get out of places that can put you in danger while allowing you to remain in accurate and counter ready positions.

Backwards Dive

Apart from the backwards slide, the backwards dive can also be considered as advanced movement techniques in addition to this one that helps for evasion and repositioning in the midst of the firing

Steps:

  1. While sprinting, initiate the dive by holding down the jump button.
  2. Turn around while diving using the left analog stick.
  3. Aim in and be prepared to engage any pursuing enemies.

As there is no risk of recoil, the backwards dive can be considered an effective immediate movement that pivots the body without losing several consecutive counters positioned in a line of fire.

Tactical Deployment of Diving

Diving can be a total game changer, if implemented at the correct time as one of the game winning strategies.

  • Baiting or Distracting: Make the diving strategy to bait enemies close to the defeat and distract them for your team tactical setups.
  • Finishing Off Injured Enemies: If an enemy unit is heavily damaged, then the unit can be made to dive to change positioning and adequately pre fire to end the enemy with ease.
  • Evasive Maneuver: Diving can also be used to narrowly evade an attack which puts the diver in a better place to engage the chasing enemy units.

Dropshot + Snaking

This time dropshotting is a bit different it starts by quickly going prone then aiming and firing at your enemies. Snaking on the other hand seems to be a more tactical technique as it allows you to scout the area without revealing your position to the enemy.

BO6 Dropshot and Snaking Screenshot

Dropshot Technique

Dropshooting is the combat tactic for successfully using the 'dropshot' in a mod and indeed a new tactical that allows performing a crouch drop whilst standing. This movement drop improvises standing drop shots and forces opponents to aim for your head losing them a chance of being shot in the torso.

Action Input
Stand (Default stance)
Sprint  Hold sprint button
Drop to prone position Press prone button
Engage in combat Aim and fire at the enemy

Snaking Technique

Snaking that a lot of professional gamers started using. It is a way to quickly crouch and survey an area without being exposed to gun fire.

Action Input
Lay down Hold prone button and sprint simultaneously
Gather information Observe enemy movements from a prone position
Engage or reposition Pop up to engage or reposition as needed

Sideways Snaking

If you want a different approach when snaking you can lay sideways which will make it difficult for your enemies to track your direction movement.

Action Input
Sprint Hold sprint button
Slide and aim Sprint slide and aim down sights
Transition to sideways position Hold the slide button

In the end, Integrate these methods into your gaming and you will see vast improvements throughout your entire game. Outplay your opponents by using slick movement techniques. Keep in mind that practice helps to get closer to perfection. Good luck out there, soldier!
