Forza Horizon 6 Update 2 Guide: 14 New Cars, Best Unlocks, Credit Reset, and Drag Tire Nerf

Forza Horizon 6 Update 2 is not just a car drop. It changes how we grind Festival Playlist points, how we tune Rivals cars, and how risky credit farming has become. If you only have limited playtime, focus on three things: The Trial, seasonal car rewards, and retuning drag-tire builds.

Forza Horizon 6 Update 2 Guide: 14 New Cars, Best Unlocks, Credit Reset, and Drag Tire Nerf

Forza Horizon 6 Update 2: Quick Patch Overview

Here is the fast version. These are the changes that actually affect your garage, wallet, and leaderboard times.

FeatureUpdate 2 ChangeWhat It Means
New Cars14 cars added Festival Playlist and Car Pass rewards
The Trial Returns to FH6 Fast Festival Playlist points
Car Meet Temporary meet near Hakobou Time Attack Social/photo spot for this month
Credits Exploit credits reset to 10 million Glitch farming is no longer safe
Drag Tires Lateral grip nerfed Road and Rivals drag-tire tunes are weaker
Leaderboards Some times may be removed Old exploit-based times are not safe

The cleanest play now is simple: earn points normally, grab limited cars early, rebuild broken tunes.

Best Festival Playlist Strategy in FH6 Update 2

The fastest route is still The Trial. It is six players against six Unbeatable AI drivers. You are not racing your teammates. You are beating the AI on points.

How to Win The Trial Consistently

ProblemBest Move
AI gets ahead early Prioritize clean passes, not risky dives
Teammates are behind Block AI gently after you pass them
Randoms ram in corners Brake earlier and avoid pileups
Your car lacks speed Tune for launch and corner exit
Team keeps losing Queue with organized players, not random lobbies

If you are farming Playlist points, start here. A clean Trial run saves more time than grinding small events first.

All 14 New Cars in Forza Horizon 6 Update 2

Update 2 adds 10 Festival Playlist cars and 4 Car Pass cars. Some are returning cars, but the lineup still has strong picks.

Festival Playlist Cars

CarUnlock MethodPriority
1993 Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau 80 Playlist points monthly Very high
1989 Volkswagen Golf Rallye 20 points in Summer Very high
2006 Dodge Ram SRT-10 Festival Playlist High
Lotus Cup 430 Festival Playlist Medium
1988 Lamborghini Countach Festival Playlist Medium
TVR Speed 12 Festival Playlist High
Chaparral Festival Playlist Medium
Ford F-150 SVT Lightning Festival Playlist Medium
Mercedes-AMG GT R Festival Playlist Medium
Saleen S7 LM Festival Playlist High

The 1989 Volkswagen Golf Rallye is the key car here. It is the only non-DLC car in this update that is new to Forza. AWD, widebody, rally roots, and likely high demand later.

The Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau is the long grind. It needs 80 monthly points, so do not leave it until the final week.

Car Pass Cars

WeekCarWhy It Matters
Week 12023 Audi R8 GT Final-era R8, strong road potential
Week 2 Mazda 808 Wagon by Mad Mike Drift-focused oddball
Week 3 1998 Nissan GT-R 40th Anniversary Collector Skyline variant
Week 42023 Toyota GR Corolla Modern AWD hot hatch

The GR Corolla is the one to watch. AWD hot hatches usually find a place in street, rally, and lower-class builds.

Best Cars to Unlock First

If you do not have time to clear everything, use this order.

RankCarReason
11989 Volkswagen Golf Rallye New-to-Forza, seasonal, likely valuable
21993 Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau Rare Porsche, 80-point monthly reward
32023 Toyota GR Corolla Strong tuning potential
42006 Dodge Ram SRT-10 Viper V10 truck, unique build options
5Saleen S7 LM High-speed meta potential
6 TVR Speed 12 Wild power, fun but harder to tame
7 2023 Audi R8 GT Reliable modern supercar pick

Best Weekly Route

Do this first:

1. Check your credit balance.

2. Complete The Trial.

3. Unlock the 20-point seasonal car.

4. Clear quick PR stunts and championships.

5. Push toward the 80-point Porsche.

6. Claim Car Pass cars if you own the DLC.

7. Retune any car using drag tires for road racing.

This route protects limited rewards and fixes performance problems early.

Credit Reset: Why Some Players Dropped to 10 Million

The big economy hit is aimed at the Hummer EV + Eliminator credit exploit. Players who used it may find their credits reset to 10 million.

There are also reports of some AFK Colossus-style farming being affected, but that seems less consistent.

MethodRisk After Update 2Advice
Festival Playlist Low Safe
Normal racing Low Safe
Auction House trading Medium Use carefully
AFK farming High Avoid
Credit exploits Very high Not worth it

The important part: affected players are not being banned based on current info. The punishment is the credit reset. Still, that is enough to wipe hours of grinding.

If your credits dropped and you did not exploit, take screenshots and contact support. Do not keep playing for hours before documenting it.

Drag Tire Nerf: Fix Your Rivals Builds Now

Drag tires were broken for road racing. They gave too much cornering grip while lowering PI. That made them a cheap way to build leaderboard cars.

Update 2 nerfs their lateral grip. Translation: they no longer corner like fake race tires.

Before Update 2After Update 2
Great launch Still good launch
Strong corner grip Much weaker corner grip
Low PI cost Less useful for road builds
Meta in Rivals No longer reliable
Leaderboard abuse Times may be removed

What to Retune

If a road build used drag tires, test it again. Do not assume it still works.

If You Feel ThisDo This
Heavy understeer Swap to sport, semi-slick, or race tires
Slower lap times Rebuild around proper grip
PI goes too high Remove power upgrades
Poor corner exit Adjust diff and gearing
Rivals time removed Set a new clean time

Drag tires should now stay where they belong: drag racing and launch builds.

Temporary Car Meet Location

Update 2 adds a temporary car meet near the Hakobou Time Attack area, around the large parking lot.

Use it for:

  • Showing new Playlist cars.
  • Testing stance and liveries.
  • Comparing builds with other players.
  • Taking photos before the location disappears.

It is not progression content. It is a monthly hangout spot. Treat it like that.

FAQ

What is the best car in Forza Horizon 6 Update 2?

The 1989 Volkswagen Golf Rallye is the best priority. It is seasonal, new to Forza, AWD, and likely to become valuable. The 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau is the best long-term grind.

How many cars are in FH6 Update 2?

There are 14 new cars: 10 Festival Playlist cars and 4 Car Pass cars.

Is The Trial worth doing in Update 2?

Yes. The Trial is one of the fastest ways to earn Festival Playlist points. Drive for team points, not personal glory.

Why did my credits reset to 10 million?

If you used the Hummer EV + Eliminator exploit, your credits may have been reset to 10 million. Some AFK farming accounts may also be affected.

Did drag tires get nerfed?

Yes. Drag tires lost lateral grip, so they are much worse for road racing and Rivals builds. Rebuild affected cars with proper handling tires.

Summary

Forza Horizon 6 Update 2 has three priorities: unlock the right cars, stop relying on risky money methods, and fix drag-tire tunes.

Go after the Volkswagen Golf Rallye first. Work steadily toward the 80-point Porsche. Use The Trial for fast Playlist progress. If your build used drag tires outside drag racing, retune it now.

The update rewards clean grinding and proper tuning. Exploits got weaker. Good builds matter more.
