PoE Corrupted 8-Mod Farming Guide | League of Phrecia

In PoE Phrecia League event, the corrupted 8-mod maps farming is one most effective strategies for generating maps, currencies, and valuable items. This way utilizes mechanics that were unique to PoE 1, making it unique for high-level farming. While specific to this league, the core concepts are universal and can be adapted to PoE other leagues.

Here, we will tell you why the corrupted 8-mod maps is so valuable and how to farming better!

Why 8-Mod Maps?

Corrupted 8-Mod Maps are central to this strategy because higher drop rates for all items; a greater chance of getting unique and rare items, and more monsters per map with more loot.

Forbidden Vault Fortress Map

For Example:

Map Type Quantity Bonus Rarity Bonus Pack Size Bonus
Corrupted 8-Mod 110% 66% 42%
Uncorrupted 4-Mod 75% Lower 21%

Abandoned Abyss Fortress Map

Why Farm Tier 17 Maps?

Because Tier 17 maps can roll modifiers like More Maps, which significantly boosts map drops.  Such as: A Tier 17 map with a 100% More Maps modifier can yield 20–30 maps per run.

Core Stratey

Step 1: Start

Corrupted 8-mod maps bonuses make them essential for juicing. However, because they are corrupted, they may roll mods that are difficult or impossible for your build to handle. So how to counter this?

  • Stockpile Maps: Collect a large supply of corrupted 8-mod maps so you can skip unplayable ones.
  • Sell Excess Maps: If you have more than you need, you can sell them to other players for currency.

Step 2: Roll Tier 17 Maps

Tier 17 maps are the most efficient for farming additional maps. You can look for mods like 80–100% More Maps, Roll maps using currency items,  and include reward-enhancing mods (e.g., currency drops or scarabs)

Step 3: Setup with Scarabs

Scarabs are an excellent way to further enhance your map drops. You only 2 scarabs are mandatory.

  1. Cartography Scarab of Escalation: Boosts map drop rates.
  2. Cartography Scarab of Corruption: Ensures more corrupted maps drop.

Step 4: Sustain & Scale Map Pool

Once you've established a steady flow of corrupted 8-mod and Tier 17 maps, you can running multiple Tier 17 maps per hour (10–12), targeting high-yield maps with favorable modifiers, and selling surplus maps or using them to transition into others.

Advantages:

  1. Farming 8-mod maps generates more maps, ensuring you never run out.
  2. Excess maps can be sold for profit or used in other juicing strategies.
  3. With proper setup, you can farm 200–300 maps / per hour in Tier 17 maps.

Farming Core Mechanic: Scarabs

Scarabs are a key component in boosting map drops and rewards. Next, we break down benefits and considerations to the most effective Scarabs for farming in the league of Phrecia event

Scarab Type Effect Notes
Domination Scarabs Adds shrines to maps Synergizes well with builds that can handle shrine buffs and magic packs
Scarab of Monstrous Lineage Increases magic monster packs in your maps Boosts map density, leading to more drops
Cartography Scarab of Risk Adds random mods to maps Requires a strong build capable of handling dangerous modifiers
Cartography Scarab of Escalation Increases map drops (e.g., +80% for 8-mod maps, +110% for 11-mod maps) Ideal for maximizing map returns but demands high survivability
Cartography Scarab of Corruption Guarantees corrupted 8-mod maps Non-negotiable for consistent map drops; highly recommended for sustained farming
Scarab of Adversaries Adds rare monsters to maps Great for builds using Headhunter or those seeking rare monster drops
Horn Scarab of Nemesis Adds more rare monsters with Nemesis mods Boosts loot from rares and synergizes well with Headhunter builds

Scarabs Overview

Which Maps To Farm?

  1. Mesa and Dunes:  Both drop "Fortress", a highly sought-after Tier 17 map, Mesa offers good Divination Card drops, while Dunes is universally favored across leagues.
  2. Toxic Sewer and City Square: These maps are currently popular in Phrecia League due to their layout and density, Toxic Sewer is particularly good for builds that excel in confined spaces.

Notes: Set most of your favorite slots (e.g., 11 out of 12) on Dunes if you're farming purely to sell maps, Use one slot on Mesa if you want a mix of Divination Cards and Fortress drops.

Idols

Idols are a critical component of map farming in Phrecia League. They provide various modifiers that can enhance your maps by increasing item quantity, rarity, shrine effects, and more.

PoE Idols Overview

Key Idol Configurations

Idol Type Modifiers
2x2 Idols Shrines are guarded by at least one magic pack, Increased effect of modifiers on your maps
3x1 or 1x3 Idols Your maps contain an additional Shrine, Five rare monsters in your maps are possessed, and their minions are touched, Delirium fog lasts longer in your maps,Your shrines are guarded by an extra pack of monsters
1x1 Idols Tier 1 to 15 maps have a chance to be one tier higher

Shrine Mechanics

Modifier Effect Priority Level
Additional Shrine Adds more shrines per map High
Increased Shrine Buff Effect Doubles certain shrine buffs High
Extra Pack of Monsters at Shrine Increases monster density and loot High

Notes: To make sure you have at least 100% increased Shrine Buff Effect to double non-granular buffs like "your attacks hit an extra time."

Map Equity

Map Equity is a hidden mechanic in PoE that influences how maps drop.

How It Works?

When a map would drop but no maps of that tier exist on your Atlas, the system instead adds to an invisible resource called Map Equity. Over time, this equity accumulates and can result in higher-tier map drops (e.g., Tier 16 or Tier 17 maps).

Void Stones

Each Void Stone increases the chance of acquiring higher-tier maps by 25%. This stacks multiplicatively, significantly increasing the rate at which Map Equity builds up. For example:

  • With 200% increased map tier chance, you get a 9x multiplier.
  • At 300%, it becomes a 27x multiplier.

Diminishing Returns

While the system is effective, there are diminishing returns. If a Tier 16 or Tier 17 map drops, it may consume some existing Map Equity but does not contribute back to it.

1x1 Idols

1x1 Idols will be provide specific modifiers to enhance your gameplay, and when used effectively, they can significantly benefit shrine strategies and delirium-focused content.

Modifier Effect
Duration of Shrine Effects on Players Extends shrine buffs (ideal for shrine-based farming)
Chance to Find Mirrors of Delirium Increases the likelihood of encountering delirium mirrors
Delirious Monsters Give Additional Reward Progress Enhances rewards from delirium monsters
Chance for Delirious Encounters to Have Extra Reward Types Adds more loot variety in delirium encounters
Maps Contain More Monster Packs Boosts pack size for more loot opportunities

Notes: Some premium Idols include modifiers like "Monster Packs Influenced by Exarch" or "Increased Pack Size." These are expensive but highly effective for maximizing monster density and loot drops in maps.

Why Use an Idol Dump Tab?

Use Idol Dump Tab to manage profits more effectively!

How to Manage?

  1. Create a Dedicated Tab: Use a specific stash tab to store all dropped Idols.
  2. Price Adjustment Strategy: Initially price Idols higher based on their modifiers, Gradually lower the price every few hours or daily for unsold items.
  3. Sell or Discard: Continue reducing prices until the items are no longer worth trading, Once the tab is filled with low-value Idols, discard them and start fresh.

Farm Maps Steps

  1. Start With Map Boss: Enter the map and find the bost and defeating at frist, Clear shrines or other content along the way if convenient.
  2. Focus on Eldritch Modifiers: Look for Eldritch Idols or Altars with modifiers like:  Chance to Duplicate Maps and Increased Quantity or Rarity.
  3. Clear the Map: Eliminate all monsters to loot potential, and collect chaos orbs, divination cards, and other valuable drops.
  4. Repeat the Process: Move on to the next map and repeat the steps above.

Note: Use Scarabs and Sextants to add additional content and rewards to your maps.  Focus on delirium mechanics if you enjoy high-risk, high-reward gameplay.

In League of Phrecia, Idols can greatly improve your farming experience if you use them effectively! Don't forget the key modifiers that increase the quantity and quality of loot while maintaining a steady flow of high-level maps. Experiment with different Idol configurations to find the setup that best suits your play style and budget.
