The ARC Raiders has once again transformed. The arrival of Shrouded Sky update (Expedition 2) means Speranza is about more than just machine avoidance; wild weather is the new challenge here. It's time to completely overhaul how we think about a raid. The weather Hurricane is more than just a visual effect; it's an even gameplay modifier for the Rust Belt that punishes the underprepared.

When the winds start blowing and the siren wails, it's decision time and you need to think fast. Extract, and try to grab a suboptimal high-tier loot risk reward, or let the tubes flood. This is the challenge, and here is how we beat it.

↖ Weather Mechanics & Survival Tactics
The hurricane brings three distinct threats: Wind, Debris, and Visibility.
If you are running with the wind (tailwind), you will feel faster and more nimble. However, fighting against the gales will drain your stamina rapidly, leaving you vulnerable if you need to sprint for cover. But the real danger lies in the debris.
The gale-force winds kick up dirt and scrap metal that wreak havoc on our tech. Here is the critical trade-off you need to master:
| Mechanic | Effect on Gameplay | Tactical Advice |
|---|---|---|
| Shield Glitching | Debris strikes cause your shield to spark and flash visibly in the dark. | Unequip your shield if you want to stay stealthy. The sparks make you a beacon for other players. |
| Shield Degradation | Constant debris impact slowly reduces shield integrity. | Only equip your shield right before engaging in combat. Don't waste durability walking. |
| Projectile Physics | Grenades and throwables have altered trajectories due to wind. | Aim upwind to compensate, or avoid using throwables at long range during the storm. |
| Audio/Visual | Howling wind masks footsteps; fog reduces sight lines. | Rely on close-range weapons. You can sprint more freely as your footsteps are muffled. |
↖ New ARC Threats: Firefly & Comet
Rumors from the surface were true. Two new machine archetypes have entered the rotation, and they require very different strategies compared to the standard drones we are used to.

↖ 1. The Firefly (The Floating Nightmare)
Think of this as a heavily armored, flying flamethrower. Unlike the Hornet, which is annoying but manageable, the Firefly controls space with fire.
- Behavior: It emits a jet of flame that can burn a Raider to a crisp in seconds.
- Weakness Analysis: We've noticed the top thrusters appear unarmored, but the real critical point is the yellow canister.
Combat Tip:
It is heavily armored on the front and bottom thrusters. Do not spray and pray. You need precision shots on that yellow fuel tank. If you see it charging up, break line of sight immediately—fire damage ticks fast.
↖ 2. The Comet (The Rolling Boom)
If the Firefly is a nightmare, the Comet is a jump-scare. It's a spherical unit that patrols calmly until it detects a heartbeat.
- Behavior: It locks on with frightening focus and rushes you. Once close, it detonates with a seismic boom.
- Comparison: It's essentially a Pop (exploding drone) but with a brain and better pathfinding.
Combat Tip:
Distance is your only friend here. If a Comet gets into melee range, you are likely dead or critically injured. Listen for the rolling sound over the wind—it's your only warning before the lock-on.
↖ Map Updates & Progression
↖ The Dam Battlegrounds: Controlled Access Zone
A new high-security area has been uncovered in the Dam Battlegrounds. You will know you are in the right place when you see the Rocketeer Chandelier—a massive, distinctive landmark.
This isn't just a sightseeing spot; it is a High-Value Loot Zone. Expect heavy resistance, both from ARC machines guarding the loot and rival squads looking to secure the bag. If you are heading here, bring your best kit.

↖ New Project: Weather Monitoring System
Shanni has a new task for us. Since the hurricane caught everyone off guard, we need to build a prediction system.
- Objective: Collect specific materials from topside.
- Reward: Building features of the system and earning Raider rewards.
- Visuals: As we contribute, the project room will visually update, evolving from a pile of scrap into a functional monitoring station.
↖ Gear & Cosmetics: The Surgeon Deck
We finally have details on the new Free Raider Deck, and it looks fantastic.

The Surgeon Deck
This deck embodies the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde persona. It's about precision, focus, and a strong stomach.
Unlock Method: Free via gameplay (earning Creds/completing feats).
Aesthetics: You start with basic scrubs and gradually unlock the full, bloody surgeon look. It's a great option for players who want to look menacing without spending real money.

Facial Hair Update
Finally, we can lose the baby face.
- Stubble: Available immediately to everyone.
- Full Beard: Unlockable via the Surgeon Raider Deck.
- Store Items: Thick mustaches and styled beards are available in the shop.
↖ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When does the Shrouded Sky update go live?
A: The update is rolling out on February 24th. Depending on your time zone, it might be late on the 24th or early on the 25th.
Q: Is the Surgeon Deck a paid battle pass?
A: No. The Surgeon Deck is a free Raider Deck. You progress through it by completing in-game challenges and earning Creds.
Q: Do I really need to take off my shield in the storm?
A: It is highly recommended. In the hurricane, a shield glitters and sparks, making you visible from across the map. If you want to avoid PvP, take it off.
Q: Are the new ARC enemies only in the Hurricane?
A: While they are themed around the update, the Firefly and Comet are permanent additions to the enemy roster and can be found patrolling the surface, particularly in the new high-value zones.
↖ Summary
The Shrouded Sky update is the biggest content drop in ARC Raiders so far in terms of its impact and changing how the game is played. This update forces all players to adapt to a new level of visibility, how to manage their stamina in the wind and face enemies that require a lot of strategy to beat.
The most important thing for this expedition is to be adaptable. Staying with the same strategy is going to spell doom for you. Use the sounds of the storm to hide your movement, get ready to attack the Firefly's canister when it's in range, and for your own good, avoid the Comet. We will see you up there Raiders. We hope you survive the storm!!
