If you have been wandering the wastelands of Arc Raiders hoping to stumble upon a legendary blueprint by sheer luck, you are doing it wrong. Since Patch 1.7, the game has shifted. The developers haven't said much, but after hundreds of hours of combined testing and community verification, we have cracked the code.

The days of random looting are over. Blueprint spawns are now dictated by a specific formula: Map Event + Location Tag + Container Type.
Whether you are hunting for the elusive Kinetic Converter or trying to solve the hidden Guitar puzzle, this guide combines every known drop location and mechanic into one definitive resource.

↖ Stop Guessing, Start Farming
Before we get into specific items, you need to understand how to loot. You aren't just opening a box; you are rolling dice against a specific pool.

1. Location Tags Matter: If you want mechanical parts, go to a Garage. If you want medical gear, go to a Hospital.
2. The Red Outline Rule: Always prioritize locations with a red outline on your map. These High Value zones increase the rarity tier of the loot, significantly boosting your odds of seeing a blueprint.
3. Container Specifics:
- Black Lockers/Crates: These are the Tech pool. This is where Augments and Weapon Parts drop.
- Surveyor Drones: Do not ignore these. Looting their blue core is a consistent source of Weapon and Attachment blueprints.
- Medical Containers: Exclusively for VitaShots, Defibs, and medical augments.

↖ Legendary Weapons & Attachments: Specific Locations
Here is the breakdown of the most sought-after combat gear and exactly where to find it.
↖ 1. The Kinetic Converter (Attachment)
This mod boosts your fire rate by 15%, drastically improving your time-to-kill in PvP. The trade-off is a massive increase in vertical and horizontal recoil.

Best Map: Dam Battlegrounds.
Required Conditions: Cold Snap, Night Raid, or Electromagnetic Storm.
The Secret Spot: Head to the Control Tower. Take the zipline up, breach the roof door, and find the ladder heading down the side.
Critical Step: Do not climb all the way down. Jump off to the left onto a small platform near the end of the ladder. The breachable crates here have a high drop rate.
Warning: Bring a zipline to get down, or you risk falling to your death.

↖ 2. The Anvil Splitter (Attachment)
Turns your Anvil revolver into a 4-shot mini-shotgun. Devastating at close range, useless at long range.

Best Map: Buried City.
Location: The Pharmacy Building in Plaza Rosa (near extraction).
Strategy: Loot every drawer in the pharmacy. I've found multiple splitters here during Cold Snaps.

↖ 3. The Aphelion (Legendary Burst Rifle)
Previously, you had to kill the Matriarch to get this. Do not do that anymore. It is too risky and competitive.

The New Meta: Go to Stella Montis, preferably during a Night Raid.
Why it works: Patch 1.7 moved this blueprint to the general loot pool of Stella Montis. I have found them in random trash cans and shipping containers in the Atrium. It is safer, faster, and solo-friendly.

↖ 4. The Equalizer & Jupiter (Harvester Weapons)
The Equalizer (Minigun) shreds boss armor; the Jupiter (Sniper) is decent but niche. Both are locked behind the Harvester Event.

How to solve the Harvester Puzzle:
1. Enter the Harvester and find 3 Power Cells (hidden behind breachable plates or on the floor).
2. Insert them into the center column slots.
3. The Shooting Phase: Yellow buttons will appear on the walls. Shoot them all until they break.
4. Loot: Three containers will emerge from the center containing the blueprints.
Survival Tip: If the center glows yellow and makes a whirring sound, run or climb up. The room is about to fill with fire.

↖ Map Events: The Key to Gadgets
Some items simply will not exist unless the weather is right.
↖ The Snap Hook
This gadget is essential for vertical movement. If you are farming this on a clear day, you are wasting your time.

Required Event:Electromagnetic Storm. (This is the single most important factor).
Best Location:Dam Battlegrounds, specifically the Research & Admin Building.
Strategy: Check every office desk drawer on the top floor while the storm is active.

Bonus Tip: Fossilized Lightning
During an EM Storm, watch where lightning strikes. You can find Fossilized Lightning at the impact zone. It salvages into Explosive Compound (essential for crafting) and sells for a high price.
↖ Other Event-Specific Drops
| Blueprint | Required Event | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Volcano | Hidden Bunker | Rare spawn inside the bunker. |
| Bobcat | Lock Gate | The event has returned in the latest patch. |
| Tempest | Night Raid | Much easier to find now that Night cycles are frequent. |
↖ The Stella Montis Loot Cave
If you need tactical gear, Stella Montis is currently the best map in the game. Since the Expedition update, the loot density here is unmatched.
Aside from the Aphelion, you should farm this map for:
- Deadline Mines
- Seeker Grenades (Perfect for finishing low-HP Rocketeers)
- Trailblazer
My recommendation: Run the Medical Research Room on the ground floor for medical blueprints, then sweep the Armory/Key Room for tech and explosives.
↖ The Easter Egg: How to Get the Guitar
Yes, there is a playable guitar. It requires solving a 15-button puzzle on Buried City. You must press these buttons in exact order. If anyone messes up, it resets.
The Button Sequence:
| # | Location Hint | Specific Spot |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Upstairs building | Behind two comfy chairs |
| 2 | Basement (via Zipline) | Behind metal shelves on the left |
| 3 | Roof | Wedged between two AC vents |
| 4 | Tree area kiosk | Inside by the door |
| 5 | Tall building (Top floor) | Behind a couch (break glass to enter) |
| 6 | Small tower roof | On the edge of the roof |
| 7 | Abandoned Bus | Inside the bus |
| 8 | Red Building (Top floor) | Dark room behind a bed |
| 9 | Yellow Generator | Between generator and wall |
| 10 | Hospital (Ground floor) | Behind stairs, between wet floor signs |
| 11 | Highway Overpass | High up, among broken concrete |
| 12 | Buried Building Roof | Behind an exposed chimney |
| 13 | Attic (Zipline access) | Between a cabinet and boxes |
| 14 | Square Tower (Buried) | Inside the tower |
| 15 | Ground floor building | Look for bright lights; hit button to unlock door |
↖ Guaranteed Sources: Quests & Trials
RNG can be cruel. Don't forget that some of the best items come from simply finishing your job.
- Sparks Fly Quest: Rewards the Trigger blueprint (Crucial).
- Greasing Her Palms: Rewards Lure Grenade.
- Industrial Espionage: Rewards Bleta.
- The Major's Footlocker: Rewards Hullcracker + Launcher Ammo.
Weekly Trials:
Always aim for 3 stars. The loot pool for trials is massive and can drop almost anything, including rare weapon blueprints like the Bobcat, bypassing the need for specific events.
↖ FAQ
Q: Do I really need to wait for an Electromagnetic Storm for the Snap Hook?
A: Yes. While there are isolated reports of finding it elsewhere, the drop rate during the Storm is exponentially higher. It is the only consistent way to farm it.
Q: How do I get Queen/Matriarch Reactors safely?
A: You don't need to kill them. Use a Hullcracker to break their armor plates. Throw a Smoke Grenade on the fallen plate, run in, loot the reactor, and escape. It's risky, but it works for solo players.
Q: Is the Kinetic Converter worth the recoil penalty?
A: For close-range PvP, absolutely. The 15% fire rate increase wins gunfights. For long-range engagements, however, it will make your weapon uncontrollable.
↖ Final Thoughts
Mastering the loot in Arc Raiders is about knowledge, not just grinding. By targeting the right map conditions—like the EM Storm for Snap Hooks or Night Raids on Stella Montis for the Aphelion—you can build a legendary arsenal much faster than your competition.
