While the ARC Raiders Bird City event may appear to be a whimsical diversion with giant ducks, it is, statistically, the most efficient Buried City loop in the game in terms of value per minute. During this event, we are not looking for random loot rooms. Instead, we farm chimney bird nests on the rooftops of the buildings.

By using high density values and optimizing our routes around certain rubber duck types and seeds, we can achieve values of 150k to 250k with significantly less hassle than a typical raid. This is our strategy for the event, which ARC Raiders items to stack thus to ensure you return safely from the roof.

↖ 1) Why This Event Makes Coins
The main mechanic is quite simple: chimneys spawn nests, which are not like loot crates because they are more Arc Coins, and more focused. Since nests serve as micro-chests that heavily incentivize trinkets and other valuables your yield is determined by volume and speed as opposed to hoping for a lucky keycard drop.
↖ What actually drops (and why it matters)
We generally get a mix of valuables and crafting mats, but the big win here is item density. It's not about one big score and getting a single heavy weapon; it's about filling your whole inventory with stacks of cash.
| Drop Type | Examples | Why we target it | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rubber Ducks | Familiar, Flashy, Doodly | Extreme value density (stacks to 15) | The priority target. |
| Trinkets | Snow globes, tapes, music boxes | High value-per-slot | Keep unless you find better ducks. |
| Seeds | Assorted seeds | Free money (stacks to 100) | Always pick up. |
| Crafting Mats | Plastic, fabric, parts | Low value density | Only keep if you have empty space. |
↖ 2) The Broken Economy: Ducks and Seeds
If you want to understand why players call this event broken, look at the inventory math. The goal is to compress maximum value into your limited backpack slots.
↖ Rubber Duck Hierarchy
Not all ducks are equal. If you find the purple or blue variants, a single inventory slot can hold more value than a large weapon.
| Duck Variant | Rarity | Value (Each) | Max Stack (15) Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Familiar | Purple (Epic) | 7,000 | 105,000 |
| Flashy / Doodly | Blue (Rare) | 3,000 | 45,000 |
| Gentle / Alien | Green (Common) | 1,000 | 15,000 |
Field-tested result: During a focus on higher tier ducks, we filled a pack in under 15 minutes to about 200,000 value. The Familiar is a mega jackpot, but we've got Familiar ducks every time.
↖ The Seed Strat (Do Not Ignore)
You can capture 100 assorted seeds worth 10,000 total. That means you are leaving a high end tier trinket. We try to grab seeds until our count reaches 100.
↖ 3) Loadout: Speed Wins, Guns Survive
You do not need a heavy PvP kit to farm birds, but you do need specific tools for movement. The schedule is time limited, and missing a jump means missing nests, so do not take the long wway around.
↖ Suggested Equipment
| Slot | Bring | Justification |
|---|---|---|
| Mobility | Snap Hook | Critical. It is able to access tricky chimney angles more quickly than ziplines. |
| Utility | Hatch Key | Optional, but lets you finish a route later. |
| Weapon | Reliable Mid-Range | Rocketeers are the biggest threat; you need to take them out quickly. |
| Meds | Extra Stims / Mushrooms | You will take chip damage from wasp and splash damage. |
Why the Snap Hook?
With the standard ziplines, you are limited to fixed paths. A snap hook lets you directly grapple to a chimney, loot it, and then swing to the next building.
↖ 4) The Route: Old Town Density
It is not necessary to cover the entire map. We focus on Old Town because the residential blocks contain the most chimneys, with 4-6 on a single building in top most density.

↖ The Roof Loop Checklist
1. Grapple Up: Get to the roofline instantly.
2. Scan & Plan: Identify the clusters of chimneys.3. Loot & Listen: Engage with the nest (animation is locked), but listen for the rockets.
4. Rotate: After the rooftops are cleared, zip/hook to the next block.
Benchmarks (field-tested):
At 5-6 minutes: Uninterrupted routes should yield ~85k-100k.
At 12 minutes: Getting a good run should yield 170k-200k.
When spawning far from Old Town, rotate there immediately as the travel time is worth it.
↖ 5) The Threat: Bird Traps & Rocketeers
Bird City is also full of new aerial noise and triggers that alert the AI. Bird traps are more common, and triggering them often chains aggro from nearby Rocketeers.

↖ The How to stay alive
If you trigger a bird trap: Prepare for immediate company. Don't stand still.
If Rocketeers start shooting: Do not try to fight them on the open roof. There's no cover for splash.
Instead of holding the roof: Drop inside the building right away. Fight from windows or stairwells where you control the angles, and/or rotate through the building to the next street.
Risk Warning: This game has loot animations that lock you out of moving. When you grab a duck, you become vulnerable for about 2 seconds, making you an easy target for other players. The team always does a 360 degree scan to be sure it's clear before making an interaction.
↖ 6) Inventory (Tetris Effect)
Your bag is going to fill up fast with items. When this happens, you need a ruthless policy to avoid wasting time sorting items while you're exposed.
↖ Guidelines For What To Keep or Drop
| Item | Action | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Purple/Blue Ducks | Always Keep | The highest value density for this game mode. |
| High-Value Trinkets | Keep | Provides you with a good cash flow. |
| Seeds | Keep (to 100) | This is an efficient use of an entire slot. |
| Crafting Mats | Drop First | Don't let scrap fabrics and plastics fill out the space of a 7k duck. |
| Weapon Parts | Conditional | Only keep if you need it for a specific build. |
Tactical Tip: If you spend more than 10 seconds rearranging your items, you need to extract. It's often safer to extract with a 180k bag than risk your life trying to get to 200k.
↖ FAQ
↖ 1) Is the Snap Hook required?
Not required but very helpful because it lets you skip climbing animations. This lets you reach roof blind spots which increases your profit per minute compared to using ziplines.
↖ 2) Why do I keep getting attacked by the AI?
You might be spending too much time on the roof after getting alert. Bird traps are like alarm systems. If you spring one, look away and move. This AI is aggressive in this mode. If you stay in one place, you will get swarmed.
↖ 3) Is it worth keeping Green ducks?
Yes, but they are the first to be thrown away if you get better loot. 15 Green ducks sold in a stack grants you 15,000. That's quite good, but a stack of Blue ducks goes for 45,000. So keep upgrading as you progress.
↖ 4) Is this something I can do by myself?
Yes. In fact, solo players can find it easier. This is because they create less noise and can quickly bunker down in buildings. Just be careful checking for other players after you loot a nest.
↖ 5) When should I extract?
We suggest you extract when you reach 150k–200k or if your meds get low. The event is about consistency; it's better to have three 150k runs banked in an hour rather than one big run and risk losing it.
↖ Summary
Bird City rewards players who treat it like a professional appointment rather than a casual scavenger hunt. Using mobility tools (Snap Hook), staying committed to the high-density blocks in Old Town, and focusing on the high-value duck stacks Familiar and Flashy, you can convert a 12-minute time frame into a great reward. Do not forget to loot the chimneys, leave the cheap trash behind, and the moment the rockets start flying, get down from the roof.
