- 4 Strategies
↖ Delirium
Delirium is one of the most profitable mechanics in Path of Exile 2. After completing three Simulacrum, players gain critical delirium passives that greatly improve profit margins. These are:
- 20% chance for Waystones to pre-roll with Deliriousness.
- Doubling the amount of dropped Simulacrum Splinters.
- 50% more Fracturing Mirrors spawn during encounters in a state of Deliriousness.
Tier: S (Insane)
Pros & Cons:
- + Profitable with all mapping strategies.
- + Delirium requires low Atlas board setup.
- + Constantly consumes Waystones without needing to replenish them.
- - Can be too much for low geared toons.
- - Needs some knowledge of the game to fine tune encounters.
Recommendation:
Invest in Delirium early to unlock the passive profit stream. Combining Delirious Waystones with other strategies improves yields further.
↖ Essence
Farming Essences lacks excitement with Greater Essences being so rare and having so little utility. Even though these can provide deterministic crafts, they end up bricked after exalt slams too often which makes the mechanic niche and far too unreliable for the average player.
Tier: D (Complete Trash)
Pros & Cons:
- + Niche uses in crafting certain items such as Breach rings.
- - Greater Essences are required and their drop rate is extremely low.
- - Lack of crafting usefulness for the majority of players.
Recommendation:
Don't Essence farm unless some changes are made to drop rates or crafting results. It isn't worth the investment right now for most players.
↖ Trials of Sekhema
Farming Trials of Sekhema is still very viable, especially with regard to a fresh economy reset. Players can farm jewels and relics by completing the trial and killing all four bosses. Selling final boss carries is another option with value.
Tier: C (Mid Viable)
Pros & Cons:
- + Having additional income comes from offering boss carry services.
- + Provides an easy source of profit through valuable jewels and relics.
- - Setup is required (e.g., collecting/purchasing relics).
- - Game knowledge to tell what drops are valuable is needed.
Recommendation:
Great option for more experienced players, especially early in a new league when jewel prices are high. Make sure your character can clear all bosses before trying to use this strategy.
↖ Ritual
Farming is considered one of the most high risk, high reward strategies in the game. Players increase their odds of finding Omens, Audience with the King, Purple Alond, and other high value items like some high valued items in other maps, if they defeat King of the Mist thrice and acquire 6 Ritual passives.
Tier: B (Very Vaible)
Pros & Cons:
- + Rare drops can yield massive rewards.
- + Can be scaled across multiple maps effortlessly.
- - Requires an investment to enable its full potential.
- - Relies heavily on chance, and is thus not very reliable.
Recommendation:
Only commit to Ritual farming if you are willing to put in the necessary resources to ride out the highs and lows of the strategy. With time, this strategy can be very rewarding.
↖ Pinnacle Bossing
Pinnacle Bossing is a form of treasure hunting that revolves around farming high-level bosses for valuable loot drops. It can give you a lot of rewards over time, but requires a large initial investment and is at the mercy of luck and RNG.
Tier: A (Insane But Risky)
Pros & Cons:
- + Potential for getting massive currency gain rewards from rare drops.
- + Enjoyable and demanding gameplay grind.
- - Huge upfront cost in boss tokens.
- - Definite chance of negative profit due to harsh RNG.
Recommendation:
Good for advanced seasoned gamblers who can afford to take a lot of hits during a dry spell. Use this method with care and backfill cash envelopes if necessary.
↖ Citadel Hunting
Citadel Hunting entails farming the waystone drops by traversing the citadels and using specific modifiers to increase the likely drops of arbiter fragments. Players can earn 3-4 arbiter fragments after defeating the map boss and preparing with tablet modifier boosts that increase waystone drops.
Tier: C (Mid Viable)
Pros & Cons:
- + Good revenue generation via arbiter fragments.
- + Increased mobility after patch 0.1.1.
- + Easy to implement once established.
- - Long setup time and travel time.
- - Pro-foritatility reliant on modifiers.
- - Not effective as a main farming strategy.
Recommendation:
Players that appreciate the mechanics and want to target zodiac fragments will appreciate this niche strategy. Citadel hunting can yield profits, but they are decent enough that it is not efficient for primary currency farming.
↖ Expedition
Expedition focuses on putting bombs on the remnants, flags, and chests to farm high-level Expedition logbooks (level 79 and above). There is enormous profit to be made from trade sites, even without spending much on the Expedition Atlas passive tree.
Tier: A (Very Viable )
Pros & Cons:
- + Profitable without the Atlas passives in terms of time invested.
- + Logbooks sell, on average, for around half a Divine Orb in bulk.
- + Simple to perform, and within the grasp of many players.
- - Less than half of the Expedition mechanic is useful in trade leagues.
- - Precise targeting of remnants is needed to achieve optimal efficiency.
Recommendation:
Expedition is quite possibly the single best strategy for generating consistent profits. It’s very well suited for players who want to earn currency without needing to invest heavily into Atlas passive tree.
↖ Profit Crafting
Profit crafting simply means crafting high-value endgame items within a game using deterministic crafting methods. Players purchase or farm white base items and transform them into high-tier equipment to sell later for profit.
Tier: B (Insane But Risky)
Pros & Cons:
- + If successful, the profits can be enormous.
- + Gives more room for creativity with crafting mechanics.
- + More experienced players enjoy this style of play.
- - The chance of losing money when failing while crafting is a reality.
- - A deep understanding of crafting systems is a must for this method.
- - Requires much time and resources.
Recommendation:
Best suited for experienced players that have sufficient resources available, Profit Crafting is a high-risk, high-reward method. All beginners are advised to be careful or avoid this method completely.
↖ Strongboxes
At present, Strongboxes provide minimal rewards and are seen as one of the least efficient farming methods. Strongboxes are low in value due to the absence of unique chase items tied to them.
Tier: D (Complete Trash)
Pros & Cons:
- + Currency or valuable items drop here from time to time.
- + Profit margins are unreasonably low.
- - They do not have any chase rewards which is uninviting.
- - Other strategies are more efficient in spending time.
Recommendation:
Do not use Strongboxes as a farming strategy. It is not worth the effort until there are improvements made to the rewards.
↖ Trials of Chaos
Trials of Chaos focuses on farming Soul Cores and Trial Master Key Fragments, making it an incredibly profitable strategy. Because these items have great value in the currency exchange, this method is ideal for players seeking straightforward profits without the hassle of pricing and crafting.
Tier: A (Very Viable)
Pros & Cons:
- + Great demand for Soul Cores and Trial Master Key Fragments.
- + Ideal for beginners who do not understand item pricing.
- + Greatly benefits from improved efficiency over time.
- - Could be monotonous during long gaming sessions.
Recommendation:
The strategy is very simple but in my point of view it is one of the best endgame strategies for experienced players. It is mostly useful for newer players looking for a way to make consistent profits with nominal advanced game knowledge.
↖ Breach
Breach farming consists of farming splinters and catalysts by defeating large packs of breach monsters. They enjoy it for the huge pack size, but due to the oversupply of breach-specific loot, the market price drops.
Tier: C (Mid Viable)
Pros & Cons:
- + High monster density provides an enjoyable experience.
- + Easy to integrate into maps.
- + Can be combined with Delirium for additional profit.
- - Redundant supply reduces the value of breach specific loot.
- - Oversupply of breach-specific loot is accessible though inefficient.
- - Time-consuming due to excessive loot collection.
Recommendation:
Moderately easy to farm when combined with other mechanics such as Delirium. As a standalone strategy, it is not very viable. Players seeking variety may find it fun to use but should keep low expectations.

↖ 4 Strategies
- 1. Prepping Delirious Waystones: Attempt to deploy Tier 12 or higher waystones at 50% and higher deliriousness. In case of emergency, make waystones from distilled despair (20% deliriousness each).
- 2. Map Traversal: Move toward Towers and Citadels while hitting towers on the map. Make sure to hit the center area with overlapping towers first, and finish with the side towers to maximize map density.
- 3. Juice Map: Put Rituals, Expeditions, and Item Quantity modifiers on tablets. Gather camps above level 79 as purple omens and logbooks drop at those levels.
- 4. Boss Fights: With your character power-scaling done, farm all expedition bosses for additional profits.
Effective farming of currency in 2 PoE endgames is complex and can be challenging without prior planning. If you employ the Delirium mechanics along with the map modifiers and sell or run chosen high value items at the optimal times, it would be easier for you to profit and scale your character.
