How to Defeating Monster Hunter Wilds Mizutsune Tactics?

Monster Hunter Wilds introduces Mizutsune, the new monster in the game, with the first major title update (TU1) of the game. With this update, hunters will have to deal with a tricky and swift leviathan that can easily outmaneuver them. Every hunter needs to have the proper plan of action as presented in this guide on how to defeat Mizutsune as simply as possible.

Finding Mizutsune

In order to hunt Mizustune, you need to first reach Hunter Rank 21. After you have done that, head to the Scarlet Forest and talk to the NPC Kanya. She can be seen at the lake located at your camp, right beside her fishing rod.

Ensure you complete Kanya's its basic fishing quest; if the quest with Kanya does not progress, this might be the reason. After that, Kanya should allow you to accept the special mission ‘Spirit in Moonlight' where she lets you fight Mizutsune.

During this phase, his attacks become even faster and more aggressive, all the while Mizutsune is able to use large blue flaming bubbles that detonate on contact, dealing huge amounts of damage.

During this phase, concentrate on maximizing these openings while ignoring face to face fights with his explosive bubbles.

Strategies to Ensure Success

Take Advantage of Exhaustion: When Mizutsune is enraged, it releases a massive explosive bubble followed by a period of exhaustion. This is your chance to aim for its mouth and potentially break it.

Exploit Weaknesses: While it's busy with these moves, dodge to the side to avoid getting hit and attack during one of its water jet attacks.
